Ontic is a leading global aerospace OEM trusted by the world's aviation leaders. Ontic's Creedmoor, NC, site is home to a number of specialist companies within the Ontic Group, including Firstmark, Twin Commander, and Metro Merlin. With over 1,300 employees across four time zones and seven sites, we have more than doubled in size since 2019 and are continuing to grow at pace.
Our team is looking for a Quality Inspector to join them. You will report to the Quality Manager and will have an onsite work structure in Creedmoor, NC.
To be considered for the Quality Inspector opening, here's what you'll need to bring with you:
  • Demonstrated expertise in Quality Control Inspection principles and regulatory administration with previous proven experience in a similar role:
  • Electronic/Electrical Inspection Methods and Acceptance Criteria (J-STD-001 IPC-A-61,620 certified)
  • General Manufacturing and Assembly Techniques
  • Proficient Drawing / Schematic Reading and Interpretation
  • AS9100, ISO 9001, and ISO 9000 Quality Management System standards
  • Familiar with the use of Coordinated Measurement Machines (CMM) for product acceptance (preferred)
  • Electronic/Electrical Test Techniques
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point)

Education/Certification:
Requires extensive experience relevant to aerospace products and processes.
High School Diploma or a General Educational Development (GED) certificate and/or experience in aerospace electrical mechanical products and processes in a roll as a in IPC-A-610,620/J-STD-001.
As a Quality Inspector, you will:
  • Approve incoming materials by confirming specifications per customer requirements; conducts visual and measurement tests; rejects unacceptable materials and/or products.
  • Ensures that Purchase Order requirements are met; paperwork is received and correct; ensures complete traceability in accordance with company and customer requirements.
  • Performs First Article Inspections, verifies Supplier First Articles and maintains vendor files.
  • Creates and maintains appropriate paperwork and technical documentation.
  • Containment of non-conforming material and coordinating with appropriate internal/external resources to resolve quality issues.
  • Performs electrical and mechanical testing as required.
  • Preferred Experience needed: Blueprint reading, use of inspection tools, calipers, micrometers, Windows computer skills, detail oriented, fast learner.
