We are currently accepting applications for full-time Quality Technician in our new, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Milton, WI, conveniently located north of Janesville. This position will work Days, 4:55am – 5:25pm, 3-4 days per week (Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday. Week 2: Sunday, Wednesday Thursday). It will report to the Quality Supervisor. This is a full-time, hourly position.

Because you're only working 3-4 days per week, you have more full days off for hobbies and time with friends and family. Also, there is 8-hours of built-in overtime during your 4-day workweek. Last, if you want to volunteer for an extra workday and its available, it is paid at double-time.

JOB SUMMARY: Provides administrative support to the Quality Department in Rock County. Provide Quality Assurance support to production and maintenance personnel. Support the duties and responsibilities of the Quality Supervisor and provide coverage during Supervisor and Quality Technician absences. The Quality Technician will support operations at RC Plant, RC Transload, and RC Cartage. The Quality Technician maintains the authority to cease operations in the event that compliance with quality standards are not being met.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties as assigned.

  • Maintain regulatory compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulatory requirements.
  • Review, enter, and file production/quality related documents utilizing CQC computer database and filing systems.
  • Execute the quality systems and programs to prevent or eliminate food safety risks and product quality defects in new and existing products.
  • Provide Quality Assurance support for Production and Maintenance on the shifts.
  • Actively monitor the production floor for compliance with quality systems and programs.
  • Conduct internal Quality and Food Safety training.
  • Responsible for conducting internal audits (Food Safety, Good Manufacturing Practices [GMP’s], Sanitation, etc.) and coordinating corrective actions.
  • Assist with for the Master Sanitation Program
  • Assist with customer and third-party audits.
  • Control non-conforming products according to company policy.
  • Serve as liaison with service providers (Pest Control, Chemical Supplier, Testing Lab, etc.) as required.
  • Routinely spot check in process Quality checks (i.e., fineness, viscosity).
  • Maintain sample retain areas/Quality Lab.
  • Execute Hold/Release of finished products/ingredients in the computer inventory database.
  • Conduct physical hold inventory as directed by Hold & Release procedures.
  • Conduct glass & brittle plastic audits.
  • Interact with Production, Maintenance, Customer Service, Procurement, R & D, and Customers.
  • Assist/lead investigation activities for adverse events, Incident Investigation reports and customer complaints.
  • Coordinate collection and submission of finished product samples, and equipment/environmental swabs.
  • Prepare and send samples to customers when needed.
  • Prepare Certificates of Analysis for customer shipments.
  • Member of Food Safety Team.
  • Participate in Facility Food Defense Team Meetings.
  • Perform all tasks assigned by the supervisor, while following all company, safety, and quality policies and procedures.
  • Maintain regular attendance at work and work overtime as needed.
  • Support a food safety culture within the sites that ensures at a minimum:
    1. The establishment, documentation, and communication to all relevant staff of food safety objectives and performance measures.
    2. Adequate resources are available to meet food safety objectives.
    3. Food safety practices and all applicable requirements of the SQF System are adopted and maintained.
    4. Employees are informed and held accountable for their food safety and regulatory responsibilities.
    5. Employees are positively encouraged and required to notify management about actual or potential food safety issues; and
    6. Employees are empowered to act to resolve food safety issues within their scope of work.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience working with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook etc.
  • Minimum 1 year of CQC experience preferred.
  • Experience demonstrating the ability to be detail-oriented and quality-focused.
  • Ability to become HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) certified within one year.
