Description
General Summary:
The Quality Intern supports product assurance, documentation, data analysis, and continuous improvement in an aerospace manufacturing environment under the guidance of experienced Quality personnel.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist with First Article Inspection (FAI) documentation, including ballooned drawings and AS9102 forms.
- Review and organize inspection records, certifications, and manufacturing documentation.
- Collect and summarize quality data, including defects, scrap, rework, and process performance.
- Support nonconformance, MRB, and corrective action activities under Quality supervision.
- Perform basic dimensional inspection using standard hand tools after training.
- Support internal audits, process reviews, and assigned follow-up actions.
- Maintain controlled work instructions, procedures, forms, and quality records.
- Participate in shop-floor learning and continuous improvement projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Quality Manager.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and accurate documentation.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage assignments, meet deadlines, and seek clarification when needed.
- Basic knowledge of engineering drawings, measurement, or GD&T preferred.
- Interest in aerospace manufacturing, inspection, quality systems, or continuous improvement.
Education & Experience Required:
- High school technical program or an undergraduate Quality, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related technical program.
