Job description

This role is ideal for a student interested in building a career in Procurement, Supply Chain, Strategic Sourcing, or Global Operations and looking to gain exposure to a truly international business environment.

The training will take place over 9 months, with the possibility of extending to 12 months. Applicants must be enrolled as a student for the entire duration of the internship. The work is performed remotely for the majority of the time; however, regular presence in our Venlo office is expected a few days per month to collaborate with the team and gain exposure to our global manufacturing environment.

Our Team

About Cimpress: Cimpress is a global leader in mass customization quoted in the high technology NASDAQ stock market. We personalize objects for our customers using the most sophisticated printing and post-printing technologies to integrate their individual messages and images onto favorite articles. One of our strategic mantras is to respect the entrepreneurial spirit in all our businesses by following a decentralized model, in which our businesses are empowered to make the best decisions for their individual results. This has helped us reach a US$3.5bn turnover and strengthen our leadership in the web-to-print market.

The Raw Materials Procurement Team: While our businesses operate independently, Global Procurement is one of the few central capabilities that support all Cimpress businesses. Our Raw Materials team serves as the strategic coordination point across our global manufacturing network, partnering with suppliers and stakeholders to ensure the reliable, cost-effective, and sustainable sourcing of materials that power our products. We work closely with manufacturing, supply chain, and procurement teams worldwide to develop sourcing strategies, leverage Cimpress’ global scale, and deliver value through supplier partnerships, market intelligence, and data-driven decision making.

What You Will Do

The Role: Your Impact

As a Procurement Intern within our Global Raw Materials team, you will play an active role in supporting category managers responsible for managing millions of euros in global spend across Cimpress. This internship provides hands-on exposure to the full procurement lifecycle, from strategic sourcing and supplier engagement to market analysis and project management. Your work will help ensure data-driven decision making, effective supplier negotiations, and alignment across our global manufacturing network.

  • Procurement Operations & Sourcing Support: Assist with tender planning activities by gathering data, consolidating business requirements, maintaining sourcing documentation, and supporting procurement-to-contract processes.

  • Negotiation & Supplier Management: Prepare materials and analyses to support supplier negotiations, maintain documentation, gather supplier information, and contribute to the development of sourcing strategies and tactics.

  • Project & Spend Management: Support procurement projects by tracking progress, maintaining updates within our cloud-based spend management platform, and helping stakeholders stay aligned on key milestones and deliverables.

  • Pricing & Market Intelligence: Validate pricing and volume information for budgeting activities, monitor market trends, and consolidate relevant industry insights to support procurement decision-making.

  • Data & Category Management: Maintain accurate material classifications and sustainability-related information within procurement systems, while supporting internal communication regarding pricing updates and category changes across the business.

What's In It For You?

We will integrate you into our Global Raw Materials Procurement team, not as an observer, but as a full, active member. We will support and mentor you along the way, but your ultimate influence, growth, and learning will be directly proportional to your own drive, curiosity, and interest.

During this internship, your main takeaways will include:

  • Global Procurement Experience: You will collaborate with procurement professionals, manufacturing teams, and business stakeholders across multiple countries and manufacturing locations.

  • Exposure to Strategic Sourcing: You will gain hands-on experience supporting supplier negotiations, sourcing events, spend analysis, and procurement strategy development.

  • Business & Market Acumen: You will develop a deeper understanding of global supply markets, pricing dynamics, and the factors that influence procurement decisions within a multinational organization.

  • Direct Business Impact: Your work will contribute to sourcing decisions, supplier strategies, and procurement initiatives that support Cimpress' global manufacturing operations.

  • Career Development: You will build practical skills in project management, data analysis, stakeholder management, and procurement operations within a fast-paced, global enterprise.

Your Qualifications

At Cimpress, we are striving to hire individuals that add new ideas and perspectives to our teams and enhance our culture. No matter your background or work experience, we strongly encourage you to apply—even if you feel that you don’t meet the exact requirements or have the same qualifications. You might be a great candidate for this or other opportunities.

  • Soft Skills: An organized and detail-oriented individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You are a self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset, strong curiosity, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while working collaboratively with global stakeholders. You enjoy solving problems, taking initiative, and driving projects forward in a dynamic environment.

  • Hard Skills: Strong analytical capabilities and comfort working with data. You are proficient in spreadsheets and other productivity tools and have an interest in using data to support business decisions. Familiarity with data analysis, reporting, and presenting insights is highly valued.

  • The Baseline: You are currently enrolled in the third year or above of a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, International Relations, Commerce, Finance, Engineering, or a related field. An excellent level of English is required.

  • Bonus Points: Knowledge of additional languages such as German, Italian, Mandarin, or French is valued but not required.
