Quality Control Lead

Position: Quality Control Lead
Weekend Shift
 Department: Quality Control
Pay: $22

Position Summary
The Quality Control Lead is responsible for overseeing daily quality control activities and supporting the Quality Control team in a fast-paced toiletry manufacturing environment. This position ensures that raw materials, in-process products, finished products, and packaging meet established quality standards, customer specifications, and company requirements. The Quality Control Lead also works closely with Production and Management to identify quality concerns and ensure corrective actions are addressed.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead and support Quality Control Inspectors during daily production activities.
  • Monitor production lines to ensure products meet established quality standards and specifications.
  • Perform and oversee inspections of raw materials, in-process products, finished products, and packaging.
  • Verify product appearance, labeling, lot numbers, dates, quantities, packaging, and overall quality.
  • Ensure quality inspections and testing are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Review quality-control documentation, inspection records, and production paperwork for accuracy and completeness.
  • Identify, document, and communicate quality issues to Production Supervisors and Quality Management.
  • Assist with investigating product defects, deviations, and customer quality concerns.
  • Help coordinate corrective and preventive actions when quality issues are identified.
  • Ensure products that do not meet specifications are properly identified and placed on hold according to company procedures.
  • Support compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), safety procedures, sanitation requirements, and company policies.
  • Train and coach Quality Control team members on inspection procedures, quality standards, and documentation requirements.
  • Monitor employee performance and provide feedback to the Quality Control Supervisor or Manager.
  • Work closely with Production Leads and Operators to resolve quality issues and improve production processes.
  • Assist with audits, inspections, and maintaining required quality records.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe Quality Control work area.
  • Promote a culture of quality, safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Quality Management.
