Job Summary

We are seeking an Assistant Quality Manager to support daily quality operations within fast-paced automotive manufacturing environments. This position is responsible for overseeing quality teams, supporting customer quality requirements, managing sorting and containment activities, assisting with issue resolution, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership experience within automotive manufacturing, quality, or production environments with the ability to manage teams, coordinate customer requirements, analyze quality data, lead corrective actions, and support new program launches. This position will work closely with the Quality Manager, supervisors, inspection teams, and customers to ensure quality standards and operational expectations are consistently achieved.


Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 5+ years of leadership or supervisory experience in automotive manufacturing, quality, or production environments
  • Strong leadership and employee development skills
  • Experience managing quality teams, supervisors, and inspection personnel
  • Experience with sorting, containment, and customer quality issue resolution
  • Knowledge of root cause analysis methodologies, including 5 Why, Fishbone, and 8D
  • Strong understanding of quality processes, documentation, and manufacturing standards
  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships
  • Ability to lead teams, delegate responsibilities, and manage employee performance
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and other technology systems
  • Ability to read, understand, and communicate in English to follow work instructions and complete required documentation

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily quality operations, including supervision of quality supervisors and inspection teams
  • Serve as a primary liaison between MS Companies and customers regarding quality performance, concerns, and requirements
  • Support new program launches through implementation of quality processes and on-site coordination
  • Manage sorting and containment activities to ensure timely and effective resolution of quality concerns
  • Respond to customer complaints by leading containment activities, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
  • Ensure quality procedures, work instructions, and documentation are maintained and aligned with customer requirements
  • Analyze quality and operational data to identify trends, recurring issues, and opportunities for improvement
  • Develop and implement solutions to improve quality, productivity, and operational performance
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean manufacturing principles and quality tools
  • Maintain strong communication with internal teams and external customers through clear reporting and documentation
  • Support financial performance through awareness of P&L, labor utilization, operational costs, and cost-control measures
  • Travel to multiple customer sites as needed to support operations, launches, quality concerns, and issue resolution
  • Assist the Quality Manager with daily operational planning, team performance, and customer requirements
  • Lead, coach, and develop quality personnel to maintain high-performing teams
  • Ensure quality teams follow established procedures, customer requirements, and company policies
  • Support preventative quality activities and participate in audits as required
  • Identify opportunities to improve quality processes and prevent recurring issues
  • Support special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned
