QUALITY SPECIALIST II
Job Summary
The Quality Specialist II supports the Quality Management System (QMS) and Quality Assurance operations to ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and industry standards. This mid-level role applies established quality principles, technical expertise, and practical judgment to develop, maintain, and improve systems, procedures, and controls that drive consistent quality performance for manufactured and repaired products.
Key responsibilities include maintaining QMS documentation, managing investigations and records, supporting audits, facilitating First Article Inspection (FAI) in accordance with AS9102, and providing production floor support. The position requires effective communication with internal teams, suppliers, and customers on quality-related topics and strict adherence to Quality System policies and Good Documentation Practices.
Responsibilities and Tasks
  • Support the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System across the organization.
  • Assist in planning, conducting, and documenting internal audits to ensure compliance with standards such as AS9100, AS9110, ISO9001, FAA-145, FAA-21, EASA-145, ESD, FOD, and 5S.
  • Maintain QMS documentation, including procedures and work instructions, in collaboration with functional leads and document owners.
  • Manage key QMS records such as RMAs, CAPAs, customer complaints, and nonconformance reports (NCRs), ensuring timely and effective closure.
  • Serve as a point of contact for internal, customer, and third-party audits, providing required documentation and follow-up actions.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and production transition activities, including development of AS9102 First Article Inspection packages, Process FMEA, and control plans.
  • Provide hands-on production floor support for technical issues, inspection methods, and rework activities to ensure efficient, compliant manufacturing and repair operations.
  • Analyze process performance, yields, defect rates, and statistical data to identify trends, investigate failures, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Review and disposition nonconforming material; assist in root cause analysis and support Quality Engineers in implementing process controls and corrective actions.
  • Support incoming, in-process, and final inspection activities as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by functional management.

Education, Experience, and Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in Quality Assurance, Sciences, Business, or a related technical discipline required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Equivalent vocational training or relevant experience may be considered depending on industry needs.
  • 2-5 years of experience in quality assurance, inspection, auditing, or supporting ISO9001, AS9100, IATF16949, or similar quality systems (manufacturing or regulated industry experience preferred).
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to understand complex instructions and break tasks into actionable steps.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively with effective problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and PDF tools.
  • Strong work ethic and the ability to think creatively to resolve issues and drive process improvements.
