Quality Control Inspector
Position: Quality Control Inspector
Job Location: Dugway Proving Ground
Summary: Assist the Quality Control Manager (QCM) in the daily QA / Safety functions. Perform QA inspections and Audits following the ISO 9001:2015 Standard under the direction of the Corporate QA Manager, maintain and update company's safety program to include State, Local, and Federal requirements. Follow company and department policies and procedures.
Qualifications: A minimum of 2 years' government contract experience. Demonstrate decision-making ability, negotiation skills and proven leadership competencies. Possess excellent interpersonal communication skills (written, oral, listening, and presentation). Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance.
Education Required:High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent work experience.
Purpose of Classification: Plan, implement, and coordinate quality control program in accordance with the Dugway Proving Ground PWS.
Principal Responsibilities:
• Assist the QC / Safety Manager in managing the overall quality control program operation in accordance with the Contract Performance Work Statement and Company policies and procedures
• Assist the QC / Safety Manager in establishing and maintaining effective control plans and procedures for resource utilization, scheduling, cost reporting and control of program tasks
• Ensures that contract requirements are met on time
• Conducts and approves corrective actions associated with the Quality Inspection Program.
• Assist the QC / Safety Manager in maintaining inspection records and documentation associated with the Quality Control Program
• Assist the QC / Safety Manager in developing and implementing the Quality Control program
• Provides for the prevention of quality discrepancies and ensures timely corrective action to preclude deficiencies
• Analyzes trend data to identify problems
• Maintains inspection records and documentation associated with the Quality Control Program
• Assist the QC / Safety Manager in generating safety directives and instruction
• Assist the QC / Safety Manager in generating and monitoring safety inspections and results
• Evaluates supervisory performances to ensure execution of safe practices
• Performs analysis of inspection data, accident reports and hazard reports
• Prepares required management reports pertaining to safety
• Conducts employee initial safety training and monitors recurring training
• Assists the manager / supervisor in resolving conditions where operations can continue in a safe manner
• Conducts follow-up actions on reported hazardous conditions to ensure the condition is corrected in a timely manner
• Serves as advisor to the Safety Committee
• Coordinates with appropriate safety, health and welfare agencies, when situations dictate to evaluate hazards
• Maintains records involving complaints, dispositions, and related correspondence pertaining to reporting safety and health deficiencies
• Maintains accident / hazard report control log for the purpose of assigning report numbers and maintaining trend analysis information
• Conducts random, unannounced safety surveillance visits to all work centers
• Provides functional expertise for resolving differences of opinion and conflicting practices
• Conducts periodic site surveys for potential health hazards in response to the nature and type of activities conducted
• Takes appropriate action to correct the conditions reported
• Monitors all outstanding safety/health hazard reports and advises the reporting employee of corrective actions in progress and any precautions for continued safe work
• Conducts periodic safety briefings and required safety training for all assigned employees, who are documented, denoting attendance and subject matter, and forwarded to the Safety Coordinator
• Conducts periodic safety meetings and training and documents the subject matter and attendance.
• Documentation will be posted to individual training records
• Makes sure required records and reports related to safety, health, and environmental concerns are maintained, posted, and submitted accurately and timely
• Displays the appropriate Federal, State and locally required posters at each work location
Special Knowledge / Skills Required:
• Familiar with the Department of Defense (DoD) particularly, as applicable to Base Operation Support Services (BOSS), Range Maintenance, and maintenance of military family housing or similar environment
• Must work with minimal supervision and guidance.
• Must be familiar with ISO 9001:2015 Standard, and OSHA safety requirements
• Have working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Must have a valid driver's license and the capability to obtain and retain a security clearance as determined by the customer
• Ability to travel to remote locations, use good judgment and common sense when performing job functions
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Ability to be punctual, and possess patience to work under stressful conditions
• Ability to identify areas requiring immediate attention and the use of practical skill to solve problems
• Must be available to work variable shifts including weekends
