Job description

EZARC, Inc. is looking for a Quality Control Technician to join our team. The Quality Control Technician must be capable of performing visual inspection, 100% welding inspection, shop production fit up inspection, tolerances per spec and customer requirements, basic knowledge of AWS D1.1, and/or structural steel fabrication inspection.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Check quality of fabricated members to assure that all products meet contract specifications, related codes, and EZARC quality standards.
  • Ensure received materials, parts, and consumables meet all quality standards.
  • Read blueprints, data, or other materials to determine specifications, inspection procedures, and/or measuring instruments required.
  • Measure dimensions of products to met standards by using instruments such as measuring tape, calipers, gauges, etc.
  • Record and maintain Quality Control (QC) logs and reports as needed.
  • Mark items with details such as grade or acceptance/rejection status.
  • Notify supervisors or other personnel of production problems.
  • Hold production or stop a process due to quality concerns when necessary.
  • Discard or reject products, materials, or equipment not meeting specifications
  • Record inspection data such as weight, temperature, grade, and quantities inspected.
  • Write inspection reports describing results, recommendations, or needed repairs.
  • Ensuring welders are conforming to the required Welding Procedure
  • Participate in providing welder and fitting training when needed.
  • Collaborate with production and management teams.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1-3-year experience with structural steel fabrication
  • Ability to interpret blueprints
  • Ability to use tape measure, voltmeter, welding gauge's
  • Be able to pass an internal eye exam for near-distance acuity and color perception with or without correction in at least 1 eye
  • Quality inspection experience, including the following, preferred:
    • Welding inspection
    • Fit up inspection
    • Tolerance inspection
