Role Description

Quality Control Intern will manage all aspects of the quality lab and provide day-to-day plant support. Quality Control Intern will be responsible for overseeing sanitation and the testing and quality of products produced at MUSH. Quality Control Intern will assist Sr. Manager of Quality and Innovation in procedure creation, data management, and audit preparation.


Specific Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day execution of all quality lab functions including Water Activity, SOPs and batch quality control and release procedures
  • Assist production team in cleaning verification, inspections, pre-op release, ATP/Allergen swabbing, chemical concentration, and control of SSOPs
  • Perform post HPP TTS, site security/ perimeter and Incoming/Outgoing truck inspections
  • Maintain lab inventory and assist in reordering of supplies
  • Assist in managing production paperwork accuracy and inventory control procedures
  • Lead in maintaining and organizing production retains, preparing samples for 3rd party lab testing
  • Perform safety and quality line inspections (room temperature, scale, gluten testing,), motivating and maintaining employees to comply with all GMPs and responsibilities
  • Maintain discipline and recommend corrective actions with employees
  • Lead by example, create value, and establish a functional working framework

Tactical Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of relevant work or school experience in food manufacturing or lab testing preferred.
  • Driven to motivate a food safety and quality culture
  • Self starter, with a desire to learn, grow, and evolve as a professional
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and work in an extremely fast-paced environment. Impeccable attention to detail
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills, bilingual in English and Spanish a plus
  • A beginners mind and dedication to continuous improvement


Physical and Work Related Requirements:

  • Standing and walking for long periods of time
  • Bending and lifting up to 50 LB
  • Ability to handle allergens including peanuts and treenuts
