Position Overview:
As a Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant (CDCA) at Attain Behavioral Health, you will play a vital role in helping individuals overcome substance abuse challenges and achieve lasting recovery. You will work closely with our team of professionals to provide support and assistance to clients, fostering a safe and nurturing environment for their rehabilitation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Client Support: Provide compassionate support to clients by actively participating in their treatment plans, including group therapy sessions and individual counseling.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines.
  • Education: Offer educational resources and information to clients and their families to enhance their understanding of addiction and the recovery process.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with licensed counselors, therapists, and other team members to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans.
  • Crisis Intervention: Assist in managing crisis situations and providing emotional support to clients in distress.
  • Advocacy: Advocate for clients' needs and rights within the legal and healthcare systems.
  • Ethical Standards: Adhere to the highest ethical and professional standards in accordance with state regulations and Attain Behavioral Health's policies.
  • Group Facilitation: Lead and facilitate group therapy sessions and support groups for clients as part of their treatment plan.
  • Client Counseling: Provide one-on-one counseling and support to clients as part of their treatment plan.

Key Responsibilities:
โ€ข Conduct client intake assessments and assist in developing individualized treatment plans.
โ€ข Facilitate or co-facilitate group and individual counseling sessions under the supervision of a licensed counselor.
โ€ข Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, including progress notes and treatment plans.
โ€ข Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure a holistic and coordinated approach to client care.
โ€ข Educate clients and their families about substance use disorders and the recovery process.
โ€ข Adhere to all regulatory guidelines, including HIPAA and Title 42 CFR Part 2, ensuring strict confidentiality of client information.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
  • Valid Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant (CDCA) certification in Ohio.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Empathy, patience, and a strong commitment to helping individuals on their path to recovery.
  • Knowledge of substance abuse treatment and counseling techniques.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment.
  • Peer Recovery Supporter (PRS).

Certification:
  • Valid CDCA certification from the Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board.
  • Qualified Mental Health Specialist III (QMHP III) (Preferred)

Experience:
Previous experience in a behavioral health or substance use treatment setting is preferred.
Skills:
