Now Hiring: Purchasing Manager

Behind every exceptional dining experience at Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is a world-class team keeping the heart of the kitchen running smoothly — and we’re looking for an energetic, people-focused Executive Steward to lead the charge in cleanliness, sanitation, and team excellence in our fast-paced resort environment. In this role, you would be responsible for overseeing all kitchen dishwashing/stewarding associates to ensure proper washing of kitchen utensils and sanitation. He/she is also responsible for supervising associates who clean/wash outlet surfaces and utensils, making sure they are clean and in compliance with all Health Department requirements and hotel/resort guidelines.

In a high-volume resort and convention setting, this means leading with empathy while maintaining high operational and cleanliness standards.


Salary Range - $75,000k - $85,000k/yr


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all Central Warehouse and dock operations, including scheduling team members, maintaining optimal staffing levels, and ensuring efficient receiving, storage, and distribution processes.
  • Manage warehouse inventory by establishing and maintaining par levels, overseeing monthly inventories, reconciling variances, and ensuring accurate tracking of all incoming and outgoing products.
  • Ensure timely, accurate fulfillment of internal requisitions and deliveries while partnering with department leaders to meet operational needs and provide exceptional internal customer service.
  • Build and maintain strong vendor relationships while overseeing receiving, shipping, and logistics activities, including shipment verification, bill of lading preparation, packaging, routing, and coordination of the most efficient delivery methods.


What We’re Looking For

  • At least 4 - 6 years’ experience in hospitality, procurement, and/or food & beverage management.
  • Experience in Central Stores Management, Inventory Control, Purchasing, Finance basics, shipping/receiving.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in managing and developing staff.
  • Experience with BirchStreet or other ordering/inventory management systems/software.
  • Proven experience in vendor management/vendor relationship with a win-win partnership philosophy.
  • Outgoing, people-person, relationship and consensus builder.
  • Team-centric, results and performance-oriented.
  • Associates/Bachelor's degree or higher is preferred.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to operate in an active environment. Frequently changing environmental temperature.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Occasionally required to run; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch. Constantly required to stand and walk, reach and grasp.
