Indirect Purchasing Buyer (Temporary)
Location: Virginia Beach, VA
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–3:30 PM
Pay: $25.00–$28.00/hr DOE
Position Type: Temporary, Full-Time, Fully Onsite
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Indirect Purchasing Buyer to support the Indirect Procurement team. This role is responsible for processing purchase requisitions and purchase orders, maintaining purchasing data and reports, supporting supplier onboarding activities, and assisting with SAP ERP and Ariba purchasing processes in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Convert approved purchase requisitions into purchase orders within SAP ERP
  • Monitor and report on open purchase orders
  • Support supplier onboarding and Ariba enablement activities
  • Maintain supplier and purchasing data in SAP and Ariba
  • Assist with part number creation and maintenance
  • Maintain purchasing KPIs, reports, dashboards, and documentation
  • Create and update SOPs, templates, and process documentation
  • Support employee training on purchasing processes and SAP usage
  • Capture meeting minutes and assist with departmental projects
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives using Microsoft Teams and SharePoint
Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree required; Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred
  • 4+ years of purchasing experience in a tactical or operational purchasing role
  • Strong SAP ERP experience required; Ariba experience highly preferred
  • Experience creating and processing purchase orders
  • Manufacturing purchasing experience preferred
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams
