Purchasing Assistant — Residential Construction

We are seeking a detail-oriented, organized Purchasing Assistant to support our Purchasing Manager and help keep our residential construction projects on schedule and within budget. This role is ideal for someone with construction knowledge who enjoys working independently, managing competing priorities, and improving day-to-day processes.

What You’ll Do

  • Maintain and update pricing for contract option sheets, upgrades, and internal cost spreadsheets.
  • Collect and enter updated pricing from subcontractors and vendors.
  • Assist with preparing and updating budgets for house plans and neighborhoods.
  • Maintain material takeoff lists and calculate option-upgrade pricing using established formulas.
  • Update subcontractor scope-of-work and specification sheets.
  • Maintain subcontractor and vendor records in our web-based construction program.
  • Request and track current insurance certificates from vendors and subcontractors.
  • Prepare and send bid requests; follow up on phone and email inquiries.
  • Issue purchase orders to vendors and subcontractors.
  • Update and maintain contract selection templates.
  • Help manage vendor rebate programs and support Design Center operations.
  • Research new materials, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Provide general administrative support to the Purchasing Manager.
