Job description

Library Assistant

The Neenah Public Library is seeking applications for friendly, energetic, and detail-oriented Library Assistants in the Circulation Services Department. We are hiring for both permanent part-time and casual positions. This position is responsible for supporting daily library operations in a fast-paced environment, including checking materials in and out, shelving, sorting, and providing curbside delivery services. This position also assists patrons at the front desk with account creation, resolving account issues, and processing payments for library fees and merchandise. Strong computer skills and the ability to multitask are essential for success in this role. The ideal candidate will support the library's mission: Inspiring ideas. Enriching lives. Creating community. Celebrating literacy.

A varied schedule includes regular nights and weekend shifts, including Sundays.

Qualifications:

  • H.S. graduate or equivalent with 2 years of continuing education
  • 3 years of exceptional customer service or administrative experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Proficient computer skills

Salary and Benefits:

  • Starting wage: $19.07 per hour
  • Permanent part-time averaging 20 hours per week.
