Overview: The Clinical Services Director (CSD) leads mental and behavioral health services in Texas, including children and youth in the foster-care and adoption systems and adults 18-59 years old. This role involves overseeing the clinical aspects of mental health counseling and therapy for adolescents, while also providing direct care and therapeutic support. The CSD oversees a team of licensed mental health professionals and plays a key role in creating a safe, supportive environment for both patients and staff. The CSD will ensure that services are delivered with the highest standards of care. The role reports directly to the Vice President of Operations (VPO).

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide direct clinical care, including mental health counseling and therapy clients living with various mental health disorders.
  2. Oversee the clinical direction of clinical supervisors and assessors who lead and supervise a team of non-licensed mental health professionals (Qualified Mental Health Professionals or QMHPs.)
  3. Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to individual clients' needs, ensuring holistic and evidence-based approaches.
  4. Assist in facilitating billing, health plans' requirements for authorizations, peer to peer reviews, and third-party payors and other aspects of the revenue cycle.
  5. Collaborate with families, schools, and other health professionals to ensure comprehensive care and effective treatment.
  6. Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and provide ongoing support for optimal outcomes.
  7. Oversee the clinical quality and compliance of mental health services with local, state, and federal regulations.
  8. Stay current on developments and trends in adolescent mental health and therapy, integrating new techniques and evidence-based practices into the clinical program.
  9. Maintain comprehensive and accurate clinical documentation in compliance with state regulations and organizational policies.
  10. Assist with developing policies and procedures related to patient care.
  11. Provide supervision, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to the clinical team.
  12. Engage in community outreach and education.
  13. Participate in administrative tasks, including budget planning/forecasting, program development, and strategic planning.

Qualifications:

  1. Advanced degree in a recognized mental health field.
  2. Valid, active, unrestricted license in Texas to practice in a mental health profession. (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, psychologist, or physician.
  3. Extensive experience in mental health care, specifically with adolescents and young adults and in providing trauma-informed care.
  4. Proven experience in managing and leading clinical teams.
  5. Strong understanding and adherence of Texas mental health regulations and the laws pertaining to adolescent mental health treatment.
  6. Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
  7. Ability to develop therapeutic rapport with adolescents, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  8. Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care with a strong commitment to improving mental health outcomes.
  9. Have a keen understanding and experience working within the payor requirements for establishing and maintaining medical necessity for clients throughout client experience.
  10. Strong leadership competence with over 3 years of overseeing clinical operations.
