Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Visual Communications Specialist will work closely with the Marketing and Communications team to assist with strategizing, conceptualizing and developing visuals for marketing and communications efforts – under the direction of the VP of Marketing. The Visual Communications Specialist will ensure the brand is being executed effectively through proposals, company branding, internal/external communication, gear, etc. They will act as a brand champion making sure that all branded communications are compliant with brand standards and style.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Pursuits

  • Create graphics and ensure consistency for proposals to win new business: graphics (design proposal layouts, covers, tabs, org charts, project pages, case studies, resumes, logistic plans, infographics, etc.); formatting and oversee production (perform quality control) of materials.
  • Create market specific collateral such as brochures and presentations.
  • Create presentation collateral (PowerPoint presentations, boards, leave behind brochures, etc.)

Branding

  • Provide jobsite branding support (signage, hard hat stickers, t-shirts, etc.)
  • Assist with coordinating project photography (professional and in-progress photoshoots) and employee headshots.
    • Help to coordinate project shot list and research appropriate photographers, coordinate timing of shoots with project teams, photographers and models.
    • Share creative perspective as needed during shoots on the visualization of each shot.
  • Ensure cloud-based photography storage platform, OpenAsset, stays up-to-date with regular uploads and keywording.
  • Contribute to strategic brand initiatives.
  • Provide tradeshow support, including booth design, collateral, video, etc.
  • Support management of enterprise-wide Lewis Gear program (inventory tracking/ordering, vendor management, promotions, etc.)
  • Advocate confidently against incorrect brand usage..

Marketing Communications

  • Provide branded materials for internal and external company initiatives and events (through collateral such as invites, posters, handouts, PPTs, branded gear, etc.)
  • Develop artwork for advertisements, sponsorships, award submittals, etc.
  • Contribute visual content for company website and social media channels (LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook)
  • Support visual branding of digital campaigns via Constant Contact and other media.
  • Support client gifting efforts through packaging design and other branded items.

Other

  • Oversee print vendor management, manage creative service providers as needed.
  • Manage systems: Adobe CC library, OpenAsset photography library, Marketing drives.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, marketing or communications preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in marketing and/or visual communications, with emphasis on design production and project management
  • Strong graphic design and visual communication skills
  • Ability to turn a complex concept into compelling visuals
  • Adobe Creative Suite proficiency, especially InDesign. Illustrator, Lightroom and Photoshop are a plus
  • PowerPoint, Word and Excel proficiency

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • This position operates in a professional office environment using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, etc.
  • When onsite at construction projects, employees are required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment as required by the company’s safety policies and as required per weather conditions.
  • Occasional overtime may be required to support events and deadlines.

REQUIRED PHYSICAL ABILITIES

  • Successful completion of drug testing and a background check are conditional requirements of the pre-employment process
  • Physical requirements include regular communications, requiring ability to see, talk and hear, as well as the ability to frequently stand, walk, and use hands fingers and arms
  • Additional abilities include sitting, climbing, and balancing, as well the ability to frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds
  • The ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. This is largely a sedentary role, with a desk that adjusts to standing or sitting.

Compensation: $40-$46 per hour (Temporary Employee-w/ benefits)
