The Opportunity
As the Vice President of Property Management, you will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for a large, multi-state portfolio. You will lead Regional Managers and operational support teams, drive financial performance, execute business strategies, and ensure operational excellence across the portfolio. This role requires a proven multifamily leader with exceptional financial acumen, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to make executive-level decisions that support the company's growth and long-term success.
Compensation & Incentives: This executive leadership role offers a base salary of $180,000 to $200,000 annually, commensurate with experience, plus a 30% annual bonus opportunity and monthly vehicle allowance.
Portfolio Scope & Impact: The Vice President will oversee a high-profile, rapidly growing portfolio of approximately 50 communities and 11,000 apartment homes across multiple states. The South Region spans from Virginia Beach, VA to Key West, FL, west to Midland/ Odessa, TX, and north through Missouri, Kentucky, Tennessee, and the Carolinas. This is a unique opportunity to influence the performance, growth, and strategic direction of one of Trinity's most dynamic regions.
Travel Requirements: This position requires significant field presence and executive engagement throughout the portfolio, with approximately 50%-75% travel across the South Region. The ideal candidate enjoys being visible, building relationships with on-site teams, and leading operations firsthand across a diverse multi-state portfolio.
Location Requirement: This position is based in Houston, TX and candidates must reside in the Houston metropolitan area. When not traveling throughout the portfolio, the Vice President is expected to work from the Houston regional office. This is not a remote position.
What You'll Own
Business & Financial Performance
  • Provide executive oversight for a large multi-state portfolio, ensuring operational and financial goals are consistently achieved.
  • Lead the development and execution of business plans that support portfolio performance, growth initiatives, and company objectives.
  • Conduct monthly financial reviews, analyze variances, identify trends, and implement corrective actions to maximize portfolio performance.
  • Utilize advanced financial and data analytics to drive strategic decision-making and operational improvements.
  • Partner with Regional Managers to identify opportunities for increased revenue, expense control, and overall asset performance.
  • Oversee capital planning initiatives and recommend property improvements to maintain competitive market positioning.
  • Ensure accountability for budget performance, financial forecasting, and overall profitability across the portfolio.

Operational Excellence & Resident Experience
  • Ensure company policies, procedures, and industry regulations are consistently followed across all communities.
  • Identify and mitigate operational and liability risks while maintaining high standards of compliance.
  • Monitor property operations, maintenance performance, and resident satisfaction metrics to drive operational excellence.
  • Support due diligence, acquisitions, dispositions, transitions, and other strategic initiatives as needed.
  • Partner with operational leaders to implement best practices that enhance resident experience and operational efficiency.

Team Development & Leadership
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to Regional Managers, the Operations Manager, and Operations Support Specialist.
  • Lead, develop, and inspire high-performing teams while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Establish performance expectations, evaluate outcomes, and create development opportunities for future leaders.
  • Serve as a strategic business partner for executive leadership, providing recommendations and insights that support organizational goals.

Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years of progressive multifamily leadership experience, including Regional Manager and senior operational leadership roles.
  • Leadership Experience: Demonstrated success leading large teams and managing complex, multi-state portfolios, and driving operational excellence.
  • Financial Expertise: Advanced financial acumen with demonstrated experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, profit and loss management, and portfolio performance optimization.
  • Data Analytics: Strong analytical skills with the ability to leverage operational and financial data to drive business decisions and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Executive Decision Making & Business Execution: Proven ability to make executive-level decisions, develop and execute business plans, and drive portfolio-wide results.
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Management, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Certifications: CPM, CAM, RMP, or CMCA certifications preferred but not required.
  • Tech Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams), SharePoint, and data analysis tools. Experience with Yardi, Entrata, ADP, Asana, and EliseAI preferred.

Requirements
Availability & Travel
This position requires extensive travel throughout the portfolio, with travel expectations of approximately 50%-75% of the time.
This position will require availability for nights, weekends, and holidays as needed, as well as occasional travel for company events or meetings. Active participation in team functions and regional or company activities is expected.
Physical Demands
This position necessitates regular periods of sitting, standing, walking, as well as use of hands and arms. Occasional climbing may be required. Extended use of computers or telephones is also necessary. The role may require lifting up to 25 pounds independently. The ability to respond promptly to both visual and auditory alarms is essential. Candidates must be able to work both indoors and outdoors under various weather conditions, including rain, snow, heat, hail, wind, and sleet.
