Re:Build Optimation is an industrial engineering design and fabrication firm in Rochester, New York. We work with customers in many industries to design and deliver unique automated industrial machines and skids to meet their requirements. As a part of the Re:Build Manufacturing company we are rebuilding America's manufacturing base and creating meaningful, sustainable jobs in areas that have been deindustrialized over the past 20-30 years. Our strategy is to employ technology, systems, deep financial resources, and best management practices to compete and win as manufacturers in the global market.

Re:Build Manufacturing is a family of industrial businesses combining cutting-edge, enabling technologies, operational superiority, and strategic M&A to build America's next generation industrial company. Re:Build leverages a deep expertise in operations management and technology to supercharge performance of its subsidiaries by implementing core technologies across industrial platforms in diversified growth markets. We seek to revitalize the U.S. manufacturing base over the coming decades, creating substantial opportunities for our employees and the communities where we operate.

If you like a fast-paced environment where individuals can stretch and be challenged with a diverse set of projects, we offer a great deal of variety and empower our staff to take on as much responsibility as they can handle, offering a helping hand and experienced-based coaching and the support of a highly competent team. As part of our fabrication and welding team, you'll help build custom machinery, industrial equipment, structural assemblies, process skids, and high-precision components that support customers across energy, chemical, food, glass, aerospace, clean tech, and more.

If you enjoy hands-on craftsmanship, continuous learning, and being part of a mission-driven company, this role is for you.

Who we are looking for

  • Are eager to learn advanced welding, fabrication, and metalworking techniques.

  • Enjoy working on a wide variety of custom projects - every day looks different.

  • Want a long-term career with clear skill-based progression from L1 through L5.

  • Value being part of a company that invests in your growth, your community, and your future.

  • Embrace responsibility, collaboration, and craftsmanship.

What You Get to Do

(L1-L5 responsibilities increase with skill and experience)

  • Perform basic MIG and stick welds in flat and horizontal positions under supervision.

  • Assist with setting up and operating welding machines, fixtures, and fabrication tools.

  • Support layout, fit-up, and tack welding using basic shop drawings and weld symbols.

  • Help prep and align pipe, tube, and structural materials; observe stainless steel processes.

  • Participate in visual weld inspections and learn to identify common weld defects.

  • Maintain a clean, safe work environment in accordance with OSHA, 5S, and company safety procedures.

  • Collaborate with fabricators, machinists, engineers, and project teams on diverse work.

  • Progress to more advanced welding (vertical, overhead, TIG, stainless, pressure, etc.) as you move up levels.

What You Will Bring to the Team

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience required.
  • Completion of a recognized welding program or apprenticeship.
  • Basic knowledge of welding tools, procedures, and safety practices.
  • Proven skill in welding in flat and horizontal positions.
  • Capability to comprehend and adhere to basic shop schematics.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow in advanced welding and fabrication techniques.
