If you’re currently in a trade program, technical school, or certification track or recently completed one, this is your opportunity to step into real properties, real systems, and real responsibility alongside experienced professionals.

We do everything in-house, maintenance, capital projects, property management, HVAC, roofing, rehab, painting, accounting, training, and more. That means you won’t be standing on the sidelines, but you’ll be learning from the teams who actually run and maintain our communities.
 
What You’ll Learn: As a Junior Maintenance Apprentice, you’ll work directly with Monarch’s Maintenance Supervisors and Roving Crews while gaining hands-on experience in:
 
  • Apartment and building maintenance
  • Unit “turns”, the apartment make-ready process
  • HVAC, plumbing, electrical, gas, irrigation & building systems
  • Preventive maintenance and capital planning
  • Work order management and resident service
  • Property and safety inspections
  • Shop organization and tool management
  • OSHA and safety compliance
  • Yardi, Leading Industry Software
  • Pool and snow removal operations (where applicable)
  • Working with third-party contractors
 
This is not classroom learning or just watching another, but real-world, boots-on-the-ground experience in live communities.
 
Who This Program Is For: We are looking for individuals who are:
 
  • Currently enrolled in or recently completed a trade program, technical school, certification, or degree program
  • High school students with a strong interest in the trades will be considered
  • Interested in HVAC, building maintenance, or skilled trades
  • Motivated, reliable, and ready to learn
 
Program Details:
 
  • Paid: $19–$20 per hour (based on location, experience and/or background)
  • Tools: Property Maintenance Starter tools to use during the program that you get to keep if you are brought on full-time after apprenticeship!
  • Length: 6–14 weeks
  • Location: Available in select Monarch regions nationwide
  • Hands-on skills demonstration required during interview process
