Job description

Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting for a Project Information Manager II with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry.

Authorization to work permanently in the U.S. without sponsorship required.

The Project Information Manager is responsible for the overall project administration in areas of data and document control (home office and field). Plans and controls the implementation of a project information management strategy that may extend to global execution. Supervises a staff of Document Control and Data Management personnel. Oversees the implementation of applications that support the data and document activities on the project from planning to handover.

Primary Duties are:

  • Working with Project Management and PIM Department Management to evaluate standard work processes and projectize them to ensure that both the project's and Wood PIM Department objectives are met
  • Supervising the Document Control Lead, Project Data Manager, and PIM System Administrator and their teams to ensure project objectives are met
  • Facilitating collaboration between all project participants with respect to the project information (including PIM, Engineering, IT, client, vendors, and third parties)
  • Setting up, testing and implementing the PIM applications/tools needed for Document Control and Data Management
  • Oversee training of project participants on the appropriate PIM applications/tools
  • Providing oversight of internal quality check process for Document Control
  • Providing oversight of internal quality check process for Data Management
  • Reporting on the state of PIM project deliverables
  • Coordinating delivery and handover of project document and data to the client
  • Preparation of project documentation for progressive archiving throughout the project
Skills / Qualifications

Competencies

  • Communication - Good communication skills both written and verbal. Effective acting as Wood's discipline representative and liaison with other companies and individuals including client, partners, suppliers, and subcontractors. Willing and able to resolve team conflict
  • Leadership skills - Able to provide direction and oversight of Project Information Management activities and deliverables, including management of quality, completeness & timeliness of work by the PIM team on the project. Able to build consensus, help to move team forward. Able to lead by example and be an effective delegator
  • Project Planning - Must have the ability to translate client contractual requirements into Project Information Management project execution plans
  • Project Execution - Demonstrates interest and understanding of overall project work flow, project execution plan, procedures, and project primary deliverables and activities
  • Systems and Tools knowledge- Must have hands-on knowledge of the systems and tools used to support an electronic execution for both Data Management and Document Control
  • Problem Solving skills - Demonstrate the ability to identify, analyze and resolve documentation and data issues in accordance with sound Project Information Management principles
  • Information Hub Management - Must understand the principles of managing a project wide Information hub from planning and implementation through handover
  • Industry Standards - Knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements for Document Control and understanding of ISO 15926, Industrial automation systems and integration - Integration of life-cycle for process plants including oil and gas and gas production facilities
