Job description

Kokosing (www.kokosing.biz) is one of America's 50 largest General Contractors and services a broad spectrum of clients in both the private and public business sectors. The company specializes in heavy civil/industrial construction, including highways, bridges, underground utilities, water/wastewater facilities, and marine construction.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Plan, develop, coordinate, and manage onsite construction engineering activities for heavy highway and bridge projects.
  • Manage project engineering and related personnel functions and activities, including personnel planning, administration, work assignments, and disciplinary actions.
  • Ensure project engineering activities comply with company and contract requirements and support the overall construction schedule (Primavera P6).
  • Provide technical support for construction effort, including participation in construction planning and design, interpretation of design, application of construction methods, resolution and documentation of design conflicts, and contractability reviews.
  • Develop, implement, and administer project engineering procedures and other work controlling documents such as submittals, RFIs, expediting material deliveries, and payment of subcontractors/vendors and owner pay requests.
  • Represent the company, project, and/or department during A/E, client, and project management meetings.
  • Interface with all on‑site departments to resolve problems and ensure quality of construction in support of the overall project schedule.
  • Oversee all pre‑construction services, design‑build services, and business development for the project.
  • Perform additional assignments per the supervisor’s direction.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent technical training and related experience.
  • Four or more years of similar construction engineering experience.
  • Bridge experience is a strong plus.
Skills and Abilities
  • Advanced knowledge of construction engineering technology, codes, standards, and the interdependence with other functional units.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage a diverse team.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer is preferred but not required.
