R&D Engineer โ€“ Mechanical Engineering

Location: Mason, OH (Onsite โ€“ Mason Business Center)
Type: W2 Contract
Hours: 40 hrs/week
Travel: 20โ€“40%


Job Summary

Seeking an experienced R&D Engineer with strong mechanical engineering and product development skills. This role supports packaging, product testing, prototyping, and cross-functional project execution. The ideal candidate is highly collaborative, can take direction quickly, and is comfortable working with multiple internal teams, suppliers, and external testing labs.


Key Responsibilities
  • Execute testing and evaluation work based on guidance from P&G technical leaders.

  • Review specifications, standards, and test parameters within P&G systems.

  • Partner with packaging engineers, product teams, suppliers, and 3rd-party labs to coordinate testing activities.

  • Lead multiple projects simultaneously with strong ownership, urgency, and detail orientation.

  • Participate in product development discussions, feasibility assessments, prototypes, and redesign/improvement initiatives.

  • Oversee prototype build phases and ensure testing for functionality, performance, and durability.

  • Identify root causes, resolve technical issues, and drive productivity improvements.

  • Prepare clear written updates, presentations, and technical documentation for leadership and initiative teams.

  • Champion continuous improvement, loss analysis, and data-driven evaluations.

  • Embrace change and support adoption of new processes, tools, and workflows.


Required Skills & Experience
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.

  • 10+ years of engineering or R&D experience.

  • Proven leadership across cross-functional teams, project execution, and initiative ownership.
