Job description

Cannabis Retail Team Lead

The Retail Team Lead plays a key role in the retail environment. A Team Lead is responsible for carrying out all daily setup, operations, safety, and cleaning procedures that maintain Temescal Wellness’ highest standards of high-quality service for our patients and guests, as well as ensuring that Associates have the support and training needed during their shifts. Leads closely adhere to all Retail SOPs and policies and closely observe Associates and the retail environment and notify management of any issues or potential areas for improvement. They are also responsible for maintaining the high standard of cleanliness that our retail facilities require. Leads will utilize their great organizational skills and attention to detail while maintaining and dispensing high-quality cannabis medicines and products in strict compliance with state and local rules and regulations. They will assist with The responsibilities of this role will be in addition to current Service Associate responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for opening and closing shifts, to include the protection of dispensary assets by following Temescal Wellness standard operating policies and procedures
  • Handle cash according to SOPs, including opening and closing registers, cash drops, making change, and organizing deposits
  • Ensure compliance and accuracy of all retail SOPs within the team day to day
  • Oversee Daily Cleaning Routines and Activities
  • Help assign tasks to service associates on the floor and in the booth during down time
  • Oversee Associates on the floor to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to regulations and procedures
  • Help train new employees on Retail SOPs and general procedures
  • Assist qualifying patients and caregivers and adult use guests in obtaining their cannabis/cannabis infused or medicated products
  • Participate actively in ongoing training in customer service 
  • Assist with daily menu management including accuracy of images and descriptions, banner updates, and collaboration with inventory team to support marketing initiatives & events
  • Assist managers in keeping staff engaged with sales goals and promoting products and recommend plans for improvement and incentives
  • Execute merchandising of in-store marketing materials, signage, accessories and TV creatives
  • Assist with community outreach, including but not limited to third party cannabis vendors, local business partnerships, sponsorships, local community events and service opportunities and communication with medical card providers
  • Transfer and transport products to and from the vault and sales floor and between Medical And AU licenses, assist in vault organization
  • Assist Inventory team in accurately adding product to the transport manifests for deliveries
  • Assist Inventory team in receiving deliveries, signing in visitors, counting, moving, and organizing product when required
  • Assist in holding retail associates accountable for inventory, customer service, and dispensing errors
  • Assist with other tasks or projects relating to the operations and services of the business as assigned by managers
  • All other duties required by management 

Requirements:

  • High energy, enthusiasm, and the willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done.

  • At least 21 years of age
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive background check
  • Ability to stand on hard surfaces for extended periods

  • Ability to complete multiple projects with excellent follow-through
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Advanced proficiency various POS software
  • Knowledge of labeling compliance for each product
  • Familiarity with Massachusetts policies and regulations governing medical and adult use cannabis
  • METRC experience preferred
  • Experience training and supervising the work of others with respect and candor preferred
  • Outstanding problem-solver

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Competitive hourly wage $20 per hour 
  • Employer pays approximately 75% of medical, dental and vision insurance, including for family members

Work Hours:

The retail facility is open seven days a week. Schedules are set based on the needs of the business and provide the opportunity for full 40 hour work weeks.
