Mesa Associates, Inc. is seeking a Project Scheduler to join our Project Support Office (PSO). This position reports directly to the Senior Project Scheduler and works closely with client project execution teams and internal Mesa stakeholders to support the successful delivery of power delivery and substation design projects.
The Project Scheduler plays a critical role in developing, maintaining, and communicating project schedules to ensure alignment between Mesa, our clients, and all project stakeholders. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor project schedules using Oracle Primavera P6 in accordance with client requirements and Mesa standards
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and field teams to ensure accurate schedule updates and alignment with project deliverables
  • Assign resources and establish design target dates within client systems
  • Track new project intake and manage updates to existing projects, ensuring timely communication to stakeholders
  • Prepare and distribute schedule updates, lookahead reports, and performance metrics to clients and internal teams
  • Facilitate and/or attend internal and external meetings to review project status, risks, and schedule impacts
  • Identify, analyze, and communicate schedule risks, delays, and opportunities for improvement
  • Support project managers in monitoring schedule performance, including critical path analysis and variance identification
  • Maintain documentation for baseline schedules, revisions, and change approvals
  • Promote consistency in scheduling practices and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the PSO
  • Assist the PSO with other project coordination responsibilities as needed

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Oracle Primavera P6 (industry standard); Microsoft Project proficiency is not a substitute but may be used at times.
  • Strong understanding of scheduling principles, including Critical Path Method (CPM)
  • Ability to gather, analyze, and synthesize information from multiple sources into actionable schedules
  • Demonstrated organizational expertise and efficiency in managing competing priorities across various teams and projects
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interface with clients and cross-functional teams
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for reporting and analysis
  • Ability to interpret client scheduling requirements and utility standards
  • Capacity to learn new software and systems quickly
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Commitment to safety and compliance with Mesa safety standards

Work Environment & Requirements
  • Willingness to attend meetings at substation sites and client facilities, including occasional travel up to 10-15% to client locations
  • Commitment to following all Mesa and client safety protocols
  • Ability to work effectively with remote and distributed teams
  • Candidate must be within 1 hour of Knoxville, TN

Additional Requirements
  • Willingness to travel to client sites as needed to support project alignment and execution
  • U.S. Citizenship is required (per 10 C.F.R. Part 810)
