Job description

MVAN Enterprises, Inc. Construction Project Coordinator/Engineer

Location: West Knoxville, TN | Primarily Office-Based with Minimal Travel Outside the Knoxville Area

Pay: $60,000 to $90,000 base salary, plus performance incentives, depending on experience

Build High-End Custom Homes. Help Establish Our Next Market.

MVAN Enterprises, Inc. is a high-end custom residential construction company with more than 20 years in business. After building a strong presence in Arizona and expanding into North Idaho, we are now establishing a new office in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Modern Stile is known for creating luxury estate homes with a highly customized, design-driven approach. We think of our projects as building art pieces -- homes where architecture, craftsmanship, materials, and execution all matter.

We are hiring for construction management roles that can go by several different titles depending on the company: Project Coordinator, Project Engineer, Assistant Project Manager, or a similar construction project support position.

We are less concerned with the exact title on your resume and more interested in the work you have actually done.

If your background includes coordinating subcontractors, supporting Project Managers, managing construction documentation, assisting with bids and takeoffs, tracking pricing, organizing project information, and helping keep projects moving, we want to hear from you.

This position will initially support active projects in North Idaho while playing an important role in preconstruction and the development of our Knoxville-area operations. For the right candidate, this position offers a clear pathway into a Project Manager role as the Knoxville operation grows.

About the Role

This role sits between project administration and full project management.

You will serve as a central coordination point between subcontractors, office staff, field personnel, vendors, and company leadership while supporting both preconstruction and active construction activities.

Depending on your previous employer, you may currently be working as a:

  • Project Coordinator
  • Project Engineer
  • Assistant Project Manager
  • Construction Coordinator
  • Preconstruction Coordinator
  • Assistant Construction Manager
  • Project Administrator with substantial construction responsibilities

The exact title is not important. We are looking for someone who understands how construction projects operate and can take ownership of the coordination, documentation, pricing, communication, and follow-through required behind the scenes.

The role combines project coordination, estimating and bid support, document management, financial tracking, and construction administration. You will help organize the information behind complex luxury residential projects and ensure that bids, proposals, documents, pricing, and project communication remain accurate and current.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate communication between subcontractors, office staff, field teams, and company leadership
  • Maintain accurate, organized, and current project files and documentation
  • Support bidding, estimating, and preconstruction activities
  • Perform and organize plan takeoffs as needed
  • Assist with subcontractor bid qualification and scope review
  • Distribute bid information and coordinate subcontractor responses
  • Track subcontractor proposals, revisions, exclusions, and pricing through multiple iterations
  • Assist with job costing, financial tracking, budgets, and other project-related financial information
  • Support administrative project workflows from preconstruction through active construction
  • Help ensure schedules, documentation, pricing, and communication stay on track
  • Maintain organized project information within company software and document-management systems
  • Assist with developing efficient systems and processes as the Knoxville operation grows
  • Support Project Managers and leadership with special project and operational priorities
Qualifications
  • 4 or more years of experience in construction project coordination, project engineering, assistant project management, project management, estimating, or a similar construction-related role preferred
  • Candidates with less than four years of experience may be considered with a four-year degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field
  • Construction experience is strongly preferred
  • Experience with custom residential, luxury residential, or design-driven construction is a plus
  • Candidates from other project-driven construction environments are encouraged to apply if their experience translates to the responsibilities of this role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organization, follow-through, and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and changing priorities
  • Financial awareness and comfort working with budgets, estimates, proposals, pricing, and job-related data
  • Ability to read and work with construction plans, specifications, and project documentation
  • Strong computer and document-management skills
  • Experience with construction or project software is a plus, including Ressio, Buildertrend, Adaptive, SharePoint, Microsoft Project, and Bluebeam
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
Pay and Benefits
  • Full-time, W-2 employment
  • Base salary: $60,000 to $90,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications
  • Additional performance-based incentive compensation
  • 401(k) eligibility after the first year of employment
  • Health insurance options
  • Opportunity to grow with an established high-end custom builder entering a new market
  • Work on distinctive luxury residential projects rather than repetitive production construction
  • Primarily in-person during onboarding, with potential for a partial hybrid schedule based on performance and business needs
  • Minimal travel outside the Knoxville area
  • Clear pathway toward a Project Manager role and increased compensation for the right candidate
Why MVAN / Modern Stile Design Build

This is a strong opportunity for someone who wants to take the next step in construction project management without being limited by a specific job title.

Whether your current title is Project Coordinator, Project Engineer, Assistant Project Manager, or something similar, if you have been helping manage the moving pieces behind construction projects, your experience may be a strong fit.

As Modern Stile establishes its presence in Knoxville, you will have the opportunity to help build the systems, subcontractor relationships, preconstruction processes, and project infrastructure behind a growing operation.

We are not looking for someone to simply push paperwork. We want a sharp, organized construction professional who understands how the details behind a project affect what ultimately gets built.

If you enjoy fast-paced work, high standards, solving problems, coordinating moving pieces, and being part of a team creating one-of-a-kind homes, this role offers meaningful responsibility and long-term growth potential.

Education: GED required; four-year construction-related degree strongly valued

Experience Level: Mid-Level | Typically 4-7 Years

Job Type: Full-Time
