Role Overview

Sodexo Energy and Resource is seeking aConstruction Project Accountant to work on-site in support of an Oil & Gas client located in Houston, TX. What You'll Do
  • prepare, review, and process vendor and subcontractor billings in compliance with terms of MSA and related SOW
  • maintain accurate project costs and reports
  • assist various project managers with proposal estimation, change orders, budget updates, forecasting, and cost analysis
  • oversee processing of subcontractor invoices, verifying lien waivers and other compliance documentation
  • monitor and track payables to support revenue recognition and related receivables
  • support project closeout processes to ensure all financial records are complete and accurate
  • communicate with client, vendors, and internal teams to resolve any billing or financial issues related to client projects
  • assist in WIP (Work-In-Progress) reporting
  • enhance accounting processes and financial reporting related to client projects
  • assist with any internal, client, or external project audits by providing supporting documentation

  • strong experience reviewing and processing vendor and subcontractor billings in alignment with contract terms (MSA/SOW)
  • solid understanding of project accounting, including cost tracking, reporting, and financial accuracy across multiple projects
  • ability to support project managers with estimating, change orders, budget updates, forecasting, and detailed cost analysis
  • knowledge of subcontractor invoice review processes, including compliance checks (lien waivers, required documentation, etc.)
  • experience monitoring payables and supporting revenue recognition and receivables trackingAttention to detail in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting full project lifecycle closeout
