emergiTEL is hiring a US Tax Operations Specialist. This is a Permanent role.
Compensation: $84,000 - $105,000 per year

Job Description (English)
Primary Function:
  • Prepare US Information Reporting and Withholding compliance and support ongoing US tax operations.
Responsibilities:
1. US Information Reporting and Withholding / FATCA
  • Prepare and coordinate annual Forms 1042/1042-S and 1099 reporting.
  • Coordinate and respond to Form W-8/W-9 requests for client and US subsidiaries.
  • Support the Head of Tax and Tax Manager in completing the Information Reporting and Withholding remediation transversal project.
  • Assist in governance of the Tax Withholding and Reporting Committee.
2. Ongoing Tax Operations
  • Coordinate and support income tax return preparers with state and local tax return preparation, filings, and notice responses.
  • Assist with preparation and filing of indirect tax reporting, including property taxes, excise taxes, and sales taxes.
  • Support tax efficiency and departmental development initiatives within the NY Tax Department.
Required Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge of US tax certifications (Forms W-8 and W-9).
  • Working knowledge of Forms 1042/1042-S and 1099 reporting.
  • Exposure to global income tax treaties, particularly US income tax treaties.
  • Working knowledge of US State corporate income tax returns.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have):
  • Background in Accounting or Finance.
  • Familiarity with AI tools.
