You are a proactive and creative problem-solver with strong analytical skills, as well as a good communicator who builds strong relationships with colleagues, clients, consultants, contractors, and vendors. And finally, you are committed to the advancement of technology, building performance, and sustainability strategies in design and construction.

We have openings in our New York office for project leaders with a passion for thoughtful, forward-thinking design. The ideal candidates will have:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or Interior Design.
  • 10+ years of New York-based project management experience at an architectural or interior design firm working on large commercial office, mixed-use, civic, academic, cultural, or other complex projects.
  • Experience managing project teams, creating project proposals and fees, reviewing contracts and invoices, and interfacing with clients.
  • Capable of leading multiple projects independently as well as collaborating on larger-scale projects as part of a team. Ability to balance demands on multiple projects at various stages of development.
  • Ability to develop designs with an understanding of building systems, sustainability requirements, accessibility, and code compliance for solutions that are unique and engaging while tailored to the client's vision and project requirements.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Type I, Type II construction, construction detailing, building materials, and systems.
  • Experience in LEED documentation and certification, space programming, space planning, workplace strategy, entitlements, planning approvals, and other relevant facets of commercial architecture and planning is desirable.
  • Design and documentation experience using Revit required.
  • The ideal candidate is a licensed Architect in the State of New York.

Qualities desired to excel in this role include an ability to be facile at problem-solving, strong presentation and communication skills. An aptitude for strong design and an ability to lead teams in a collaborative environment are also sought and valued.

Our base salary compensation for this position, based on experience, ranges from $104,000 to $156,000.
