Job Description: POSITION GOALS
The Programs Assistant will be responsible for volunteer and event coordination, partner and stakeholder engagement, outreach and recruitment activities, communications and grant writing, and data management support. This is a part-time position directly accountable to the Chief Development Officer.
QUALIFICATIONSHS Diploma/GED required; Associates or bachelorโs degree strongly preferred.
Bilingual in English and Spanish is required.
At least 3 years of Clerical, record keeping, public relations, scheduling, or community college experience.
Graphic design experience strongly preferred.
Advanced computer, Microsoft Office, and Internet experience required.
Ability to operate standard office machines.
Salesforce, or other relevant database experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES Strong organizational skills.
Excellent written, oral, and phone communication skills.
Ability to present an image of professionalism in appearance and attitude.
Ability to represent agency to community members, future volunteers, and stakeholders.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of information and data gathered from work with students and parents.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and assist multiple people at once.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff and those contacted in the course of work.
Willingness to learn new things and eagerness to acquire new skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES Create a positive and welcoming atmosphere for community members, volunteers, and stakeholders
Conduct weekly follow up with new volunteers
Coordinate volunteer schedule
Recruit, train, schedule, and retain volunteer tutors for learning center classrooms
Manage promotional material creation and reproduction
Assist with promotional, agency, and fundraising events โ coordinating volunteers, set up, marketing, etc.
Work with partner representatives to support successful mutual referrals
Assist with outreach and recruitment events and speaking on behalf of the agency
Conduct or arrange guest speakers for college and workforce-ready workshops for students
Gather, compile, and input data into the Restore database as needed
Assist with periodic file audits
Attend required staff development and training sessions as required
Maintain on-going communication with program management
Provide administrative support to DSS as needed
Other duties as assigned
SCHEDULE: 30 hours per week with potential for additional hours, or eventual full-time position. Monday โ Thursday from 9am-5pm; some Fridays/Saturdays as required. SALARY AND BENEFITS: $16-21 per hour PROBATION PERIOD: 90 days
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES
Must possess a valid Class โCโ Texas Driverโs License or obtain a valid Class โCโ Texas Driverโs License within thirty (30) days after becoming a resident of the State of Texas.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical requirements include visual acuity, speech and hearing, hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer keyboard and basic office equipment. Subject to sitting, standing, bending, twisting, and walking to perform the essential functions. Some travel required.
