Job description

The Truck Commercial Vehicle Systems Group of Hendrickson is looking for a Program Manager to join our team in Woodridge, IL!
This Program Manager will:
  • Lead and manage Simultaneous Product and Process Development (SPPD) teams to ensure successful new product launches by establishing goals and objectives for each functional group and monitoring performance.
  • Lead and manage Current Products (CP) teams to ensure successful implementation of internal and customer-driven product changes by establishing goals and objectives for each functional group and monitoring performance.
  • Develop and/or manage project timing, capital requests (CERs), capital budgets and product objectives (cost, weight, performance etc.).
  • Manage programs/projects from the study phase through the evaluation phase of the SOP4.4K process meeting the project schedule and ensuring proper submission of SOP4.4K deliverables.
  • Develop and update program metrics using standardized reporting tools and other methods as required.
  • Provide periodic updates to the SPPD Executive Committee.
  • Develop QOS metrics for programs, projects and team performance and provides regular updates.
  • Communicate regularly with all functional areas, including engineering, sales, marketing and supply chain management personnel regarding project goals, issues, and accomplishments.
  • Lead customer program launch meetings once the program has been accepted and resourced in the customer's organization.
  • Coordinate communication between various divisions, joint ventures, engineering groups, and customers as required.
  • Have frequent interface with customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure return on investment strategies are maximized.
  • Ensure manufacturing strategies are in alignment with program objectives.
  • Be responsible for development and execution of program launch plans to assure there is a plan for every part of the bill of material.
  • Facilitate development of cost models in generating customer proposals based on review of customer expectations, optimized sellable PN strategy and freight considerations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The successful candidate will possess:
  • Bachelor's degree in program management, engineering, or business required.
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering, marketing, or business with at least 5 years of project management experience in an Industrial business environment, preferably in the commercial vehicle industry.
  • Accounting and Financial planning skills desired.
  • Computer literacy in a Microsoft Office environment (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint), MRP (QAD) systems and PLM software (Teamcenter).
  • Flexibility to travel overnight as required.
