Job description

Want to help customers control and secure access to some of the most sensitive data on the internet. Security is the #1 concern of customers adopting the cloud, and the AWS Identity team defines and enforces the access model for AWS. We run massively scaled, globally distributed systems that authenticate every AWS transaction.
Today, IAM Identity Center integrates with 45+ AWS applications to provide customers with a consistent and delightful front-door authentication experience

We are looking for a motivated Technical Program Manager with the desire and talent to contribute to our vision. As a Sr. Technical Program Manager on IAM Identity Center, you will take our SSO and authentication experience to next level.

This role is cross-functional and requires a strong ability to think big and influence teams across AWS. You should be comfortable dealing with ambiguity and display high levels of bias for action and ownership. You will be required to understand the different use cases, work with engineering teams across Identity and our application partner teams to find and fine tune the solutions, work with senior management to evangelize and drive adoption and share reports with executives.
You must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, be self-driven and deliver high quality results in a fast-paced environment

We're looking for people who are smart and can get things done. If you have an entrepreneurial spirit, know how to deliver, are innovative, and long for the opportunity to build solutions to challenging problems in Identity, then we want you as a Sr. Technical Program Manager for IAM Identity Center under AWS Identity.
Key job responsibilities
- **Application onboarding program ownership**: Own the end-to-end lifecycle for onboarding AWS applications to IAM Identity Center (enterprise) and Builder ID (individual)

Define and maintain intake processes, integration guides, partner communication, launch readiness criteria, and post-launch health monitoring.
- **Streamline and automate onboarding**: Identify friction points in the current onboarding process and drive simplification - including building self-service onboarding tools, leveraging AI to reduce manual coordination, and creating reusable integration templates and documentation.
- **Cross-AWS program leadership**: Lead cross-identity programs spanning 9+ teams and 100+ engineers, coordinating across multiple sub-organizations. Develop program plans with clear milestones, run weekly syncs, track dependencies, and drive on-time delivery of complex multi-team launches.
- **Partner engagement and alignment**: Build trusted relationships with AWS application partner teams. Provide integration guidance, validate functionality, create comprehensive partner-facing instructions, and drive adoption of IdC capabilities (e.g., multi-region support, CMK, Trusted Identity Propagation).
- **Roadmap and stakeholder communication**: Maintain and distribute internal and partner-facing roadmaps on a recurring cadence

Provide strategic visibility to VP-level stakeholders, reduce ad-hoc escalations, and enable leadership to make data-driven prioritization decisions.
A day in the life
- Lead a regular application onboarding sync with partner teams, reviewing intake pipeline status, unblocking integration issues, and aligning on upcoming launches.
- Investigate a self-service onboarding automation opportunity - scoping AI-powered tooling that can reduce partner onboarding time from weeks to days.
- Review and update the monthly partner-facing roadmap, incorporating new feature launches and communicating priority changes to partner leadership.
- Author a data-driven narrative for Identity Center leadership on onboarding velocity trends, partner adoption metrics, and recommendations for process improvements.
- Triage an incoming application request, provide integration guidance, and connect the partner team with the appropriate engineering This is a backfill for a recent departure. The role is responsible for driving key programs to streamline application onboarding, coordinate feature launches with application partner teams, and own cross-AWS adoption initiatives. The role spans both IAM Identity Center (enterprise) and Builder ID (individual) authentication use cases

The ideal candidate will combine strong cross-team program execution with partner-facing communication skills and a drive to automate and simplify. Day-to-day work includes multi-team program management, partner coordination, roadmap ownership, launch management, support simplification, bi-weekly status reporting, and cross-AWS coordination.resources.
About the team
IAM Identity Center is the enterprise identity connector for AWS - enabling workforce users to securely access 45+ AWS applications through a single, consistent authentication experience. Our team operates at the intersection of security, developer experience, and scale

We build and run globally distributed authentication systems used by hundreds of thousands of customers, from individuals, startups, to the world's largest enterprises.
We are a tight-knit team that values ownership, bias for action, and customer obsession. We move fast - delivering complex, multi-team programs on aggressive timelines while maintaining the highest security and quality bar. You'll work alongside experienced Product Managers, Software Engineers, and other TPMs who are passionate about making identity simple and secure for every AWS customer.
