About our School: Mount St. Michael Catholic School (MSMCS) is a private Catholic Classical School within the Diocese of Dallas, accredited by TCCB ED. MSMCS has a Montessori program for 3k-5k and then transitions into a Classical school for 1st-8th grades. It is located in southwest Dallas on the property of the Sisters of Our Lady of Charity. The mission is to form children in courageous virtue grounded in the truth of Christ: to reason clearly, to choose morally, and to serve faithfully.

Position: MSMCS seeks part-time Development Director. The Director of Development fulfills the mission of MSMCS by planning, guiding, and evaluating the development efforts of the school in fundraising, marketing, event planning, grant writing, communication, alumni affairs and public relations. The Development Director has decision making responsibilities within essential job functions, in keeping with school policies. The position is hired and evaluated by the principal and Board President.

Qualifications: To support and uphold the Christian identity, mission, and philosophy of the school and of the Christian Community of God’s Delight (CCGD).

  • To support and adhere to the Code of Conduct and policies of the school
  • Plans the overall development program in keeping with school needs, the Strategic Plan and budget objectives
  • Collaborates effectively with the principal, Development Committee, school associations, committee chairs and volunteers
  • Oversees Development staff in a manner that ensures effective and efficient practices
  • Ensures effective work practices in financial accounting and reconciliation, database management, gift recording, donor acknowledgement and stewardship
  • Maintain records on current and prospective donors
  • Ensures that practices are in compliance with school, Diocesan, city, county and state regulations
  • Communicates effectively with the faculty and staff and keeps them informed of upcoming development activities
  • Demonstrates professionalism in conduct, demeanor, and work habits

Minimal Qualifications:

Education/Certification: Bachelor’s degree

Experience: Development or related field preferred
