OTC Program Associate


NC MedAssist is North Carolina’s only nonprofit, statewide free pharmacy. Our programs assist our neighbors with medication access needs by providing prescription and over-the-counter medication at no cost. Our mission is to dispense opportunities through improved health.

Job Overview

The OTC Program Associate is a full-time position responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of our Over-the-Counter (OTC) Program. This role focuses on assisting , with a primary focus in our OTC warehouse maintaining organized inventory, fulfilling orders, and helping ensure the Free OTC Program operates efficiently and effectively.

The OTC Program Associate reports directly to the OTC Program Director and works closely with the Mobile Free Pharmacy (MFP) team and volunteers on a daily basis to support program operations and provide excellent service to the community.

Position Responsibilities:

The key responsibilities of the OTC Program Associate include but are not limited to:


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the daily operations of the OTC Program by organizing, receiving, and distributing products and supplies.
  • Receive, inspect, unload, and stock incoming shipments of OTC medications and health products.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and monitor product movement using inventory management systems.
  • Load, unload, move, and organize inventory, including lifting boxes up to 40 pounds.
  • Train, guide, and support volunteers during warehouse and inventory activities.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and welcoming warehouse environment.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet program goals and organizational priorities.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, flexibility, and sound judgment in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
  • Maintain dependable attendance and support special projects and community outreach events as needed.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve processes and operational efficiency.
  • Attend quarterly Mobile Free Pharmacy Events.
  • Other tasks as directed by OTC Program Director.

Requirements/Qualifications


  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check required. Background checks are part of our hiring process. We believe in second chances and consider each applicant’s situation individually.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak in English, bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
  • Friendly, motivated and passionate about assisting others.
  • Comfortable with a fast-paced warehouse and community resource environment.
  • Basic computer skills, experience with Word, Excel and other applications is preferred.
  • Willing to learn and grow in a fast-paced setting.
  • Valid North Carolina driver’s license and insurable under the organization’s policy.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

COMPENSATION

Hourly rate of $18.00 an hour, paid on a bi-weekly pay schedule


HOURS AND LOCATION

This position is fully onsite with a 40-hour work week

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (with or without reasonable accommodation)

  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
  • Ability to frequently push, pull, and lift up to 30lbs with occasional lifting of up to 40lbs.
  • Full range of motion for frequent bending, squatting and reaching.
  • Flexibility in working in diverse settings including office, warehouse, retail store and outdoors for events.
  • Comfortable operating company vehicle frequently.
