Temporary Program Assistant
The City of Pleasanton is excited to announce an opportunity for a dedicated individual to join our team as a Temporary Program Assistant in the Public Works Department, Utilities Division. In this part-time, temporary role, you will support the operation, maintenance, and repair of the City's wastewater collection system. Typical assignments include assisting with sewer line repairs, hydro-flushing activities, CCTV inspections of sewer mains, stormwater infrastructure inspections, pump station maintenance support, and preparing and operating service vehicles and equipment. This position offers a dynamic, field-based environment where your work helps protect public health, support environmental compliance, and maintain reliable wastewater services for the community every day!
We're looking for someone who is:
- Hands-on and interested in learning the day-to-day operation of water distribution and sewer collection systems.
- Team-oriented, with the ability to work effectively as part of a crew or independently.

In this role, you will:
- Assist with the operation, maintenance, and repair of the City's wastewater collection system.
- Support sewer line repair work and hydro-flushing activities.
- Conduct or assist with CCTV inspections of sewer mains.
- Inspect stormwater infrastructure.
- Assist with pump station maintenance activities.
- Prepare and operate service vehicles, tools, and equipment.
- Remove debris and perform related tasks necessary to maintain reliable wastewater services for the community.
