Job description

METROPOLITAN STATE HOSPITAL- Located in Norwalk, Los Angeles County
*This position is limited term for 12 months. This position may be terminate at any time or may become permanent at a later date.
Under the supervision of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) Program Director, the Program Assistant assists in managing logistics for system updates, communication, job aids, training, working with clinical supervisors, program management to ensure training is scheduled for all HER initiatives. Create local initiative for EHR program planning, development, and implementation; manage logistics of activities related to EHR system updates; coordinates with training officers and clinical supervisors to ensure EHR related trainings are scheduled and completed; administratively supervise local facility organizational change initiatives to improve EHR system adoption and increase end user and patient satisfaction; establish and provide support for local EHR program priorities; act on behalf of the Program Director in their absence; and other duties and responsibilities. Candidates should be able to demonstrate effective leadership skills, analyze complex problems and take appropriate action, and communicate effectively.
Minimum Qualifications
Either I
Two years of clinical nursing experience in the Department of Mental Health performing the duties of a class comparable in level of responsibility to that of a Supervising Registered Nurse or Unit Supervisor in a treatment program for the mentally disabled.
Or II
Two years of clinical experience as a psychiatric social worker, psychologist, rehabilitation therapist, or teacher in a treatment program for the mentally disabled.

Department Information Opened in 1916, DSH-Metropolitan State Hospital is in the vibrant community of Norwalk,15 miles east of Los Angeles. To the south are entertainment venues like Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm, the marinas and beaches of Huntington, Newport and Laguna. To the west are Palos Verdes and Marina Del Rey. DSH-Metropolitan State Hospital has an open campus within a security perimeter. The hospital operates approximately 826 beds. The commitment categories of patients treated at DSH-Metropolitan: Lanterman-Petris-Short (LPS) Act, Incompetent to Stand Trial (PC 1370), Offenders with Mental Health Disorders (Penal Code Section 2964/2972/2974), Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity (PC 1026).
