Job description

Mother Seton School, a pre-K - grade 8 Catholic school located in Emmitsburg, MD and sponsored by the Daughters of Charity, is seeking an After Care Program Staff Member beginning August 24, 2026.
The ideal candidate will be a responsible, caring, and energetic individual to join our After Care team. The After Care Staff Member plays a key role in creating a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for students after the school day ends. This part-time position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children and is committed to their well-being and development.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and distribute daily after-school snacks
  • Greet and check students into the after-care program
  • Supervise and engage with students during indoor and outdoor playtime
  • Oversee and assist students during homework and quiet time
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment
  • Monitor student behavior and support positive interactions
  • Ensure a secure and organized student pickup process
  • Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and students as needed
  • Follow all school/program policies and procedures

Qualifications:
  • Previous experience working with children (preferred)
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage groups of children in a calm and positive manner
  • Must pass background check and complete necessary Maryland state childcare requirements

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and actively engage with children

Compensation:
  • $15.00 per hour, dependent on experience; not benefits eligible

Hours:
Monday - Friday, 2:45 PM - 6:00 PM
