Job description

Duties and Requirements of the Job:

  • Performs such individual assignments as the supervisor may direct; establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the Corporation and the community; and maintains the professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Record production and inspection data manually or in electronic storage devices
  • Train other operators as authorized. Undertake training as required
  • Load and unload materials and parts as needed
  • Check quality of product and visually inspect
  • Work under general supervision, performing routine and complex manufacturing processes and associated documents
  • Flexible to transfer to any other duties considered necessary to meet the needs of the business
  • Wear appropriate safety protection at all times and ensure compliance with Health amp; Safety policy and procedures
  • Maintain one's own work area to established housekeeping standards
  • Perform to meet departmental goals and quality targets
  • Help identify and eliminate issues with safety, quality, and production

Training, Knowledge and Experience (May Be Required or Preferred, at the discretion of the hiring team)

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Ability to cross train and perform additional duties as needed
  • External Candidates preferably will have at least 6 months of manufacturing operator experience
  • Must be legally authorized to work in US without a sponsorship now or in the future

  • Knowledge of correct rotation of tools
  • Knowledge of Dust Collector procedure
  • Knowledge of use of the Prewi Profile projector
  • Knowledge of inline tool changes while in production
  • Knowledge of Quality specs and perform checks

  • Knowledge of correct glue weights and application
  • Knowledge of adjustments for glue weights

  • Knowledge of the Nordson and drum changes
  • Knowledge of cleaning procedures
  • Knowledge of correct pad placement and quality checks
  • Knowledge of Underlay roll changes – Seaming / Placement

- Packaging

  • Knowledge of manual operations
  • Ability to troubleshoot
  • Knowledge of when pallets / toppers / cartons need to be loaded
  • Knowledge of clearing faults and alarms.
  • Knowledge of quality standards with carton folding/pallet placement.

Working Conditions:

  • Occasionally lifts and / or carries up to 50 pounds.
  • Maneuvers in, around, under and about factory and / or laboratory equipment on a regular and continuous basis.
  • Some of work time is spent sitting, standing, walking, lifting and bending. · Works within a manufacturing ,office and laboratory setting and may be exposed to heat, cold and fumes/chemicals.
  • May be required to travel to other sites or customer sites as needed.
  • PPE must be worn as required.
