Job Description

Primary Responsibilities:
The Direct Support Professional is vital in assisting individuals with daily living activities, personal hygiene, and social integration within the community. This role involves close coordination under the guidance of the Program Director and adherence to the individual's specific Service Plan.

Your Role as a Direct Support Professional (DSP)

As a DSP, you’ll be a crucial part of our mission, helping individuals with daily living activities, personal care, and community integration. But that’s not all, your positive energy and caring nature will brighten the lives of those you support.

  • Empowering Lives: Assist with personal care and daily activities, helping individuals achieve their goals and live life to the fullest.

  • Keeping Things Running Smoothly: Assist with household tasks, ensuring a clean, safe, and happy home environment.
  • Documenting the Journey: Accurately record daily activities and observations, helping to create a complete picture of each individual’s progress.
    Qualifications

    Physical Demands and Work Environment:

    • Regular use of hands for typing and reaching.
    • Ability to hear effectively, with or without a hearing aid.
    • Frequent standing, walking, sitting, and occasional lifting (up to 30 pounds).
    • Exposure to health risks in the working environment.
    • Requirement to work in the Williamsburg Day Support Center with company transportation responsibility.
    • Potential exposure to challenging situations, including psychiatric and deceased patients.

    Employment Conditions:

    • Familiarity and compliance with company policies and procedures.
    • Protection of individuals' rights and prevention of abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
    • Cooperation in investigations and procedural meetings. Maintenance of confidentiality.
    • Mandatory training and certifications in CPR, First Aid, and Behavior Intervention.
    • Must have reliable transportation, valid driver's license, current DMV Driving Record, and appropriate automobile liability insurance.
    • Successful completion of Criminal History and Central Registry background investigations.
