Schedule: Monday- Friday 1:30pm - 7:00pm and Friday 11:30am-7pm
Location: Newhall Clubhouse (James Ventress Clubhouse)

Salary: $19/hour
We are looking for energetic charismatic people who have a deep passion for working with children and teenagers, who want to make a difference in their community and have a positive impact on the future. This is a high energy calling, because it is more than a job. It requires consistency and reliability from caring adults who will mentor and inspire youth. You will work with a wide variety of youth from various socioeconomic backgrounds. Make a difference and join our team!
Under the supervision of the Site Director, the Youth Development Professional/Front Desk Assistant asissts with front desk supervision and monitoring as well as programming with youth. You will assist in the planning, implementation, evaluation, and delivery of programs at the Club as well. Responsible for closing duties as well as cleaning duties. Experience should cover a wide variety of youth development programs. The Youth Development Professional/Front Desk Assistant will develop meaningful relationships with youth in an after school and summer program setting. Youth at the Club are 5-17 years old.
Phone & In-Person Communication - Welcoming families, answering calls, taking messages, and providing clear information.
Organization & Time Management - Managing check-in/check-out, visitor logs, and schedules.
Clerical Skills - Filing, data entry, sending emails, and handling forms or sign-in sheets.
Attention to Detail - Ensuring member attendance, visitor badges, and accurate records.
Computer Skills - Comfortable with Microsoft Office, email systems, and member management software (if applicable). Canva
Customer Service Skills
Positive Attitude & Friendliness - Creating a welcoming environment for members, families, and visitors.
Active Listening - Understanding parent questions or concerns and responding appropriately.
Problem-Solving - Handling minor conflicts, scheduling issues, or directing inquiries to the right staff.
Patience & Professionalism - Staying calm under pressure, especially during busy pick-up times.
Safety Awareness - Monitoring who enters/exits the building; following child safety protocols.
Confidentiality - Protecting member and family information.
Conflict De-escalation - Redirecting concerns and escalating issues to leadership if needed.
Team Collaboration - Communicating with Site Directors, Program Staff, and parents consistently

Requirements
Administrative/Office experience required
Bilingual Spanish Preferred
High School Diploma required
Some college preferred
Ability to multitask during busy time periods
At least one year working with youth
Ability to clean and sterilize workspaces
Excellent communication skills
Ability to engage with children and communicate with parents
Able to lift 20 pounds, kneeling, bending, standing and sitting for extensive periods.
Ability to pass a background check, drug test and TB test
