Job description

NV5 is seeking a full-time Land Development EI for our Cary, NC office. The EI will provide engineering design assistance and review of commercial, residential, and/or institutional land development projects including municipal water/sewer/storm water design or relocation projects. The most frequent and essential work activities include:

  • Provide engineering and design of land development and utility projects.
  • Coordinate work with project managers, engineers, and designers.
  • Remain familiar with the review procedures and permitting processes of state and local public entities.
  • Utilize CAD software (either AutoCAD/Land Development Desktop or MicroStation/GeoPak) to prepare drawings.
  • Correspond with clients and permit reviewers (written and verbal) under the direction of the Project Manager.
  • Ensure quality control procedures are implemented.
  • Complete project tasks within deadlines and work within allotted project budgets.

  • BS degree in Civil Engineering
  • 0 to 4 years of civil/site related work experience
  • Passed the FE Exam
  • EI certification a plus
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills
  • Knowledge of MicroStation/GeoPak or AutoCAD/Land Development Desktop a plus
  • Must be willing to travel on occasion
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license prior to employment-preferred

  • Must be able to carry, lift and push/pull up to 20 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
