Job description

SUMMARY: The Product Support Engineer is responsible for all aspects of the daily assembly, test, and delivery of fuel controls and related components. Collaborate with other Engineers and Quality Engineer to streamline and improve the assembly and test process while ensuring the highest-level of product quality; mistake proofing, FOD / cleanliness, etc.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Respond to operational and production operational issues, conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions to minimize downtime.
  • Streamline and improve the assembly and test process ensuring the highest-level of product quality, mistake proofing, FOD/cleanliness, etc.
  • Ensure assembly and test equipment are maintained and calibrated.
  • Perform correlation on new test benches and periodic audits to validate correlation of existing test benches.
  • Work collaboratively with the site to develop and improve technician/mechanic training requirements including standard assembly techniques and procedures; O-ring installation, screw torquing, lockwire installation, freeze installation, etc.
  • Identify areas where statistical data can be used for process control and improvement.
  • Ensure components comply with relevant aviation regulations, standards, and certification requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
  • 5 years of engineering experience in the aviation industry, preferably with an OEM or aerospace manufacturer.
    • OR an additional 3 years of engineering experience in lieu of degree.
  • Strong understanding of aircraft accessories and components.
  • Knowledge of aviation regulations and certification processes.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to analyze complex mechanical systems and components.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with airline customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to ensuring the safety, reliability, and performance of aviation systems.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to customer sites or participate in field support activities as required.
  • Coordinate with the appropriate engineering functions to review, evaluate, and determine the proper disposition of nonconforming material (Material Review Board).

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
  • 9+ years of engineering experience within the aviation industry.
  • Familiarity with tools and techniques for performance monitoring and trend analysis.

OTHER:
  • The selected applicant will be subject to a background check and drug testing.
