Job description

Inside Sales Representative / Project Manager

The Inside Sales Representative / Project Manager is the primary point of contact for customers both pre and post-sale. This role is responsible for managing customer experience from initial contact through the point of sale and project delivery, coordinating with engineering, production, and logistics teams to ensure success and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle customer inquiries professionally and in a timely manner
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships
  • Address client concerns and provide accurate, timely information
  • Educate clients on products and services
  • Generate price quotes and sales orders
  • Coordinate activities between sales, engineering, production, and customers
  • Monitor project status, resolve delays, and ensure timelines are met
  • Manage customer expectations (quotes, lead times, shipping, etc.)
  • Maintain accurate sales activity and CRM records
  • Participate in product training and gain competitive knowledge
  • Prepare sales reports and forecasts
  • Perform administrative support for the sales department
  • Represent GCI at trade shows and events
  • Handle special projects as assigned

A Typical Day Includes

  • Answering inbound calls, emails, and web inquiries
  • Providing detailed product and service information
  • Conducting assessments to evaluate customer project needs
  • Reviewing customer requests and confirming project alignment
  • Collaborating with the Director to develop pricing and quotations
  • Ensuring strong communication and follow-up for customer satisfaction
  • Assisting Regional Sales Managers with post-sale support and order coordination
  • Relaying order updates and shipping schedules
  • Updating CRM software with customer communication and sales activity
  • Submitting weekly/monthly reports to the Director

Occasional Duties

  • Participating in customer entertainment, trade shows, and seminars (may require local or extended travel)

Required Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of experience in inside sales, sales support, or project coordination (manufacturing or construction preferred)
  • Ability to work on-site in Shawnee, KS
  • Willingness to travel up to 5% annually

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the concrete pipe and precast industry
  • Knowledge of construction materials or concrete products
  • Background in sales, project management, or production within the construction industry
