Job description

The Production Planner is responsible for planning and coordinating daily production activities of all production operations. This role ensures efficient production scheduling and accurate finished goods inventory to support customer demand. The production planner works closely with operations, sales, and suppliers to maintain a consistent flow of materials, maximize plant productivity, and efficiencies.

About the Role
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute daily and weekly production schedules for all operations based on sales forecasts, orders, and inventory targets.
  • Create and process production work orders for products, ensuring accuracy in quantities, mix designs, and timing.
  • Monitor finished goods production (raw to finish goods) to ensure alignment with shipping schedules and customer demand.
  • Manage raw material inventory including cement, aggregates, packaging materials, etc. to prevent shortages or overstocking.
  • Oversee finished goods inventory levels, ensuring proper stock of key SKUs while minimizing aging or excess inventory.
  • Coordinate with raw material suppliers (cement, aggregates, packaging, etc.) to ensure timely deliveries and resolve supply disruptions.
  • Organize and maintain yard layout for aggregates, raw materials, and finished goods to optimize space utilization, accessibility, and material flow.
  • Track inventory movements and audit inventory to ensure accuracy between physical stock and system data.
  • Collaborate with the plant manager, traffic manager, and production team to align production schedules with delivery and shipping requirements.
  • Analyze production and inventory data to identify inefficiencies, reduce waste, and improve overall operational performance.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to production planning, inventory control, and yard management.

About You
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, operations, engineering or related field preferred; not required
  • 2-5 years of experience in production planning, preferably in concrete, aggregates, or heavy manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of bulk material handling, inventory control, and production scheduling in a plant environment
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and production planning concepts
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (forecasting, tracking, and reporting)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, production-driven environment with multiple operations
  • Bilingual skills are preferred
