Planner/Scheduler
Experience Requirements
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in maintenance, operations, maintenance planning, or a related industrial environment.
  • Experience using CMMS software is required.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, blueprints, technical manuals, work permits, and safety procedures.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of maintenance and field operations.
Job Summary This is a temporary, entry-level opportunity within the Maintenance Planning Department. The Planner/Scheduler will support maintenance planning and scheduling activities by reviewing project documentation, maintaining asset information within the CMMS system, assisting with job plan development, coordinating material requirements, and helping monitor field execution progress.
Key Responsibilities
  • Review P&ID drawings, equipment records, and asset data from capital projects and enter information into the CMMS system.
  • Assist in developing detailed maintenance job plans by conducting field walk-downs to identify required labor, equipment, materials, and support resources.
  • Break work scopes into executable task steps and document all activities within the planning database.
  • Assist with procurement of materials and outside services needed to complete planned work.
  • Communicate completion of planning packages to the EPC Planner when scopes are ready for scheduling.
  • Support monitoring of field work progress and provide updates as required.
Planner/Scheduler Duties
  • Develop, maintain, and support production and maintenance schedules based on operational demand, resource availability, capacity constraints, and business priorities.
  • Monitor schedule performance, compliance, and capacity utilization.
  • Track material inventories and job progress to support efficient execution.
  • Maintain planning and scheduling systems, including ERP-related processes and reporting functions.
  • Generate timely reports and data used to support business decisions and schedule optimization.
  • Coordinate scheduling activities to ensure work is properly planned and executed.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to prioritize and respond effectively to multiple tasks in potentially demanding or hazardous environments.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with employees, contractors, customers, and stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Work indoors and outdoors around industrial facilities, electrical equipment, and operating machinery.
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions and temperature extremes.
  • Ability to climb and work at heights, as well as perform tasks while standing, sitting, kneeling, crouching, or lying down.
  • Must be able to recognize and respond to visual and audible signals, alarms, and instructions.
  • Regular lifting requirements include up to 50 lbs., manual transport of up to 75 lbs., and the ability to apply up to 100 ft-lbs. of torque.
  • Ability to enter and exit vehicles frequently and travel on rough terrain as needed.
  • Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Overtime may be required.
  • Must reside or be willing to relocate within one hour of the reporting location.
