Job description

Job Title: Production Engineer Location: Port Arthur, TX Type: Direct Hire Requirements

  • Required Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry with plant production experience
  • Required 5+ years work experience in an engineering role
  • Preferred Honeywell Experion experience
  • Preferred Microsoft Project experience
  • Willing to participate in our 24/7 production facility call out policy, when needed
  • Ability to function and communicate effectively at all organizational levels
  • Willing to work on shift for 30 days during the 90-day probationary period
  • Ability to obtain TWIC Card

Responsibilities

  • Lead the operation of distillation projects and hydrogenation reactors.
  • Understand and learn how equipment associated with the campaign operates.
  • Work with plant utilities and provide data and chemical engineering support for specific product campaigns.
  • Collaborate with technical advising and plant personnel to optimize operations and meet plant goals.
  • Ensure all product specifications are met in coordination with Quality Assurance personnel.
  • Assist engineering department in developing cost-effective projects to optimize production and minimize working capital.
  • Develop procedures for items already in production or to be produced in the future.
  • Prepare and enhance operating instructions.
  • Troubleshoot plant operations to address discrepancies from expected operation.
  • Generate reports detailing campaign efforts, including mass balances, process data analysis, and de-bottlenecking proposals.
  • Develop and maintain campaign-specific schedules to meet production demands.
  • Ensure campaigns run efficiently by working with plant personnel, technical advisors, and data analysis.
  • Participate actively with operators in the field to identify process and safety improvements.
  • Communicate technical information and issues to plant personnel at all levels.
  • Optimize waste disposition to improve cost savings.
  • Lead quarterly improvement meetings with technical advising personnel for main projects.
  • Lead pre-campaign meetings before start-up to review project execution details.
