Analyzer Maintenance Technician

Location: Texas City, Texas (Onsite)


About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Process Analyzer Maintenance Technician to support the reliability, maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of process analyzer systems at our Texas City manufacturing facility.


This position is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of online analytical instrumentation that supports production, environmental compliance, quality, and process safety objectives. The successful candidate will provide hands-on technical support for analyzer maintenance, system troubleshooting, reliability improvements, and capital project execution.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on process analyzer systems and associated equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair analyzer failures to minimize downtime and improve reliability.
  • Maintain, calibrate, and document analyzer performance in accordance with site procedures and quality standards.
  • Support online analyzers including gas chromatographs, emissions monitoring systems, gas detection systems, oxygen analyzers, water quality analyzers, and related technologies.
  • Maintain sample conditioning systems and analyzer communications infrastructure.
  • Identify reliability improvement opportunities and recommend solutions to enhance analyzer performance and availability.
  • Develop, update, and maintain equipment specifications, procedures, calibration records, checklists, and technical documentation.
  • Support capital projects through scope development, equipment reviews, factory acceptance testing (FAT), installation oversight, commissioning, and startup activities.
  • Participate in Process Safety Management (PSM) activities including MOCs, PHAs, incident investigations, and alarm management initiatives.
  • Utilize SAP to support maintenance planning, work execution, and equipment history tracking.
  • Assist with analyzer obsolescence planning and replacement strategies.
  • Support internal audits and ensure compliance with environmental, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Train and mentor less experienced technicians.
  • Provide after-hours support during critical equipment issues, plant outages, and turnaround events as required.


Qualifications

Required

  • Associate degree in Instrumentation Technology, Electronics, Process Technology, or related technical field; OR completion of a formal apprenticeship program; OR military experience in a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of hands-on experience maintaining process analyzers in a petrochemical, refining, chemical manufacturing, or industrial environment.
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting, repairing, commissioning, and supporting startup activities for process analyzer systems.
  • Strong understanding of chemistry, chromatography, spectroscopy, and analytical measurement principles.
  • Proficiency with SAP, Microsoft Office, and standard computer hardware/software applications.
  • Willingness to work extended hours when necessary to support critical equipment issues and plant outages.
