About Elco Lighting:

Elco Lighting is a recognized leader in the lighting industry, committed to delivering innovative and high-quality lighting solutions. We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Product Testing Engineer to join our team and play a critical role in ensuring the excellence of our products.

Job Summary:

The Product Testing Engineer will be responsible for the comprehensive testing and evaluation of Elco Lighting products, focusing on electrical and mechanical performance, reliability, and compliance with industry standards. This role requires a strong engineering background, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with both internal teams and external testing laboratories.

Responsibilities:

Product Testing and Reporting:

Develop and execute detailed test plans for lighting products, including LED fixtures, dimmers, and related electrical and mechanical components.
Conduct rigorous testing to assess product performance, durability, and safety.
Generate comprehensive test reports documenting test procedures, results, and analysis of product quality.

Product Improvement:
Analyze test data and identify areas for product improvement and optimization.
Collaborate with design and engineering teams to implement corrective actions and enhance product performance and reliability.
Contribute to the product development process by providing testing feedback.

Regulatory Compliance and Certification:

Work closely with external testing laboratories (UL, ETL) to ensure products meet all applicable safety and performance standards.
Manage the testing and certification process for regulatory compliance, including Title 24 requirements.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and regulations.

Jobsite Troubleshooting:

Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance for product issues encountered on job sites.
Analyze field failures and provide recommendations for resolution and prevention.
Travel to job sites as needed to investigate and resolve product-related problems.

Electrical and Dimmer Testing:

Conduct thorough electrical testing to ensure product safety and performance.
Perform dimmer compatibility testing to ensure optimal performance and compatibility with various control systems.

LED Testing:

Perform detailed LED testing, including photometric measurements, color rendering analysis, and thermal management evaluation.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
Proven experience in product testing and quality assurance.
