Who We’re Looking For

The Zoning Analyst will research, analyze, and interpret zoning and land use regulations for properties across the country. This role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a passion for problem-solving in the commercial real estate sector. In this role you will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with a team of Zoning Research Specialists and Zoning Analysts to research, document, and prepare zoning reports as part of the commercial real estate due diligence process. You will use your communication skills to ensure that the project management and sales teams are aware of report progress so the client can be kept informed.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Data Acquisition:
    • Collaborate with the Zoning Research team to gather necessary municipal documents and records to support the report writing process.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Review and analyze regulatory documents to extract key data points, ensuring the information obtained is accurate, complete, and relevant to the reporting requirements.
  • Reporting:
    • Prepare clear, accurate, and timely reports by applying your knowledge of zoning, land use regulations, and commercial real estate (CRE) due diligence. Strong writing skills will be essential in delivering high-quality deliverables.
  • Problem-Solving:
    • Proactively identify and resolve issues that may arise during the research and reporting process, ensuring project timelines and client needs are met.
  • Confidentiality:
    • Handle all sensitive documents and information with the highest level of professionalism and discretion.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in urban planning, environmental, real estate, geography, public administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 1-3 years of experience in commercial real estate, zoning, land use, permitting, planning, or related research preferred.
  • Understanding of, or interest in developing, knowledge of zoning ordinances, land use regulations, and the client-consultant relationship.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
