Job description

Job Purpose:
The Manufacturing Operations Intern will support Manufacturing management and production planning departments learning essential functions of the organization. The intern will be required to pull, analyze and organize data into reports that are relevant to the departmental functions.
Essential Functions:
โ€ขPerforms various departmental data entry, administrative, and clerical functions as determined.
โ€ขCommunicates with manufacturing management, and supervisors and other Virco departments to promote smooth, efficient operations.
โ€ขGathers, analyzes and/or prepares data and reports.
โ€ขTrains in manufacturing operations or production planning functions.
โ€ขInteracts as needed with other departments, customer service, and sales to accomplish departmental and business goals.
โ€ขPerforms other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
โ€ขMust be enrolled in a 4 year university seeking a degree in a business related field.
โ€ขKnowledge and experience working with SAP is preferred.
โ€ขMust have data entry and computer skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
โ€ขMust have good communication and math skills and good analytical abilities.
โ€ขMust be able to type and be proficient in 10-key.
โ€ขMust have good teamwork skills, be flexible, and be able to meet and maintain performance standards.
โ€ขMust have knowledge and proficient use of applicable office-related equipment.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to frequently lift up to 10 pounds to waist level, to occasionally push and/or pull up to 25 pounds, and to occasionally bend, stoop, and/or climb. Must be able to use a computer, 10-key, telephone, facsimile machine and copy machine
